Why Was Gypsy Rose Blanchard Arrested?
Crazy enough, Dee Dee was found dead in their house in 2015, when Gypsy Rose was 23 years old. She had been killed.
After Gypsy Rose and Nicholas Godejohn came up with and carried out a plan to kill Dee Dee, Gypsy tried to get away from the long-term abuse she had been getting from her mother. After being caught, they were both sent to jail.
Godejohn killed Dee Dee Blanchard with a knife while she slept in Springfield, Missouri, on the evening of June 14, 2015. He did this with Gypsy’s agreement and with planning. The two then went to Godejohn’s home state of Wisconsin with the money they had taken from Dee Dee.
Posts and messages on social media and the internet finally helped find out where they were and what they were doing, which led to their arrest.
In 2016, Gypsy took a plea deal and admitted to killing someone in the second degree. A 10-year prison term was given to her because the circumstances of her abuse made it seem like a light sentence.
If Godejohn was the real attacker, he would get a longer prison term. He was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2019 and given a life term without the chance of parole. He was also given a 25-year sentence for using a weapon in a criminal offense.

At the end of her jail time in June 2022, Gypsy Rose married Ryan Scott Anderson. It’s not clear how they met or what he does for a living.
