Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi claims that in the summer of 2010, while cameras were rolling, a Jersey Shore producer instructed police to arrest her for public intoxication on the beach.
On the Wednesday, August 28, episode of the podcast “Therapuss with Jake Shane,” Polizzi, 36, relived the notorious incident, stating that she had “started to black out when the cops were handcuffing me.” She also revealed a “little secret” from the backstage of the popular MTV reality series, which ran from 2009 to 2012.
“Those police officers weren’t working for the town,” Polizzi said to Jake Shane, the host. “They took a break from their production shift to make sure we were safe from crazy people.” Since they weren’t employed by the town, I don’t even think it’s legal, but when I rewatched the video, one of the producers stated, “Just arrest her.”
In Seaside Heights, New Jersey, on July 30, 2010, Polizzi was taken into custody and charged with criminal harassment, disorderly behavior, and disturbing the peace. Charges were dismissed in September of that year, and she was given a $500 fine along with a two-day community service requirement.
Following a night of partying with her castmates, Polizzi drank through her job shift at the Shore Store. Months later, MTV featured the incident in an episode of Jersey Shore dubbed “Where’s the Beach?”
On “Therapuss,” Polizzi stated, “I was drinking nonstop when I woke up that day.” “So you know when you wake up and you start to feel uneasy? I woke up still wearing my party dress and my blanket on, heading to my shift, because you’re like, “I’m going to s—t, I’m going to throw up, but I have to be on camera and I have to go [to] this shift.”
Danny Merk, her supervisor, had threatened to dismiss her because of her tardiness.
She drank beer, Long Island iced tea, and Four Loko when she got to work in an attempt to stave off “the shakes.”
“I felt like I couldn’t handle this,” she recounted. That’s when I went running. I hurried over to the bar. I took shots merely to feel better, and after that, I continued without stopping.
I was in a good mood and decided not to return to work. I was getting to know so many strangers. I believe I flirted with an elderly man. Although it was a nightmare, I had a fantastic time.
“I knew the beach was right there, but my inebriated self was like, ‘How do I get on the beach?'” she went on. because access to the beach is limited to a specific number of entries. I was wondering where the beach was since I couldn’t seem to find them anywhere.
How can I enter the beach area? Right there, the guy says, and I’m like, “I know, moron.” How can I enter the beach?
Let’s fast-forward fourteen years. Polizzi is married to Jionni LaValle, whom she met while filming Jersey Shore in 2012, and has three children: son Lorenzo, age 11; daughter Giovanna, age 9; and son Angelo, age 4. Two years later, the pair got married. She currently makes an appearance on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, a spinoff.
