In addition to fame, reality TV gave Zach Rance, a former Big Brother contestant, ten horrifying death threats. After years of unrelenting harassment, Zach, who first appeared on television almost 10 years ago, is now pleading for assistance. Part of the reason for this is that he has a strong friendship with Frankie Grande, the brother of pop queen Ariana Grande.
Zach Claims That Since the Show, His Life Has Been a Nightmare
Zach, who is currently 33, openedly stated that he has been living a nightmare since his time on the show in a YouTube video that was uploaded on Sunday, August 25.
“This is my request for assistance to everyone who follows me, to all Big Brother viewers, and to anyone who has ever watched a season of Big Brother,” he implored. Zach continued by describing how, ever since Big Brother premiered in 2014, he has been the target of persistent abuse, with his attackers threatening not only him but also his friends and family.
What is it that’s energizing these trolls, then? Everything comes full circle to Zach’s time in the Big Brother house, when he became friendly with Ariana Grande’s older brother, Frankie Grande.
The pair captivated fans, who even gave them the nickname “Zankie” and dreamed of a romance after the event. Zach swiftly corrected everyone, saying that there was only a close relationship rather than a romance.
Zach commented, “Him and I had a very close friendship in the house,” pointing out that many people had expected they would get together after the program. But the dream and reality didn’t align, and their “showmance” ended when the cameras stopped.
Fans Were Let Down That Zach and Frankie Never Became a Couple
It appears that some fans were really disappointed that Zach and Frankie didn’t work out, and their dissatisfaction took a negative turn. Zach began getting an inundation of hostile emails and texts when his contact information was exposed.
Zach claimed that these texts varied from being blatantly harmful to being viciously accusing, such as calling him “closeted”.
Zach came out as bisexual in the open in 2020, but it didn’t stop the hate. “I was receiving these emails nonstop,” he said. The messages didn’t go away; in fact, some of them even urged him to commit suicide.
Now, Zach has amassed binders full of these disgusting threats, recording years and years of suffering. He calculates that he has probably received 5,000 hateful emails. Even worse, Zach is truly afraid for his safety and the protection of his loved ones because of how serious these threats have become.
“These threats started getting harsher, worse, more direct, more specific, and it got to the point where I didn’t really know what to do,” he said, expressing his concern that the threats would actually come to pass.
And Zach isn’t the only one who has been targeted. His grandmother and father have both received anti-Semitic emails, putting his family at danger as well. Zach and his family are often anxious because, despite his best attempts, he has not been able to locate the anonymous sender.
Zach is now pleading with the Big Brother community, particularly those who were formerly a part of the Zankie fanbase, to assist him in putting a stop to this craziness after ten years of living in fear. He’s hopeful that someone out there may know something that may help identify the person making these malevolent threats.
Hopefully, Zach will be able to close this horrifying chapter of his life and find the serenity he so richly deserves.
