Who is Robert Hight?
Robert Hight drives the Auto Club of Southern California Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car and plays in NHRA drag races. He is also the head of John Force Racing.
He has won the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series Funny Car title three times, in 2009, 2017, and 2019. His title in 2009 was the 15th major title for the JFR team. His title in 2017 was the 19th major title for the team.
In all but one of his 14 competitive seasons, Hight has placed in the top 10 in points. The only season he didn’t make it was 2020 when JFR only ran two championship rounds because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hight has said that he wants to return to racing as soon as his health problems are fixed and has stressed how important it is to put his health first. While that is going on, Austin Prock will be driving the Cornwell Tools/AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car instead of Hight for the 2024 season.
Robert Hight said he is dedicated to putting his health first, he also said
“I have to put my health first. Once this is resolved, I’ll be back. I’ll be looking forward to racing again, I’m a competitor and can’t wait to get back to doing what I love. I know Austin will do a great job in my place for Cornwell Tools, AAA, Chevy and all of the John Force Racing sponsors. He will win races.
Austin Prock sent his best wishes by writing,
“First off, all the best wishes to Robert and his health. It’s been a dream of mine to drive a Funny Car with my family, but this is not the way I hoped it would happen. It’s a mixed feeling. I’d like to thank John and all of our partners, but especially Cornwell Tools, AAA, and Chevy, for giving me the chance to fill this spot. This is a very important job to do because Robert is such a great driver and the team is so good. I’m ready to get back to riding because the off-season has been so busy.

What Robert Hight Has Done in His Career?
After being a fan for a while, Hight joined John Force Racing in 1995 and specialized in clutches. He first worked as a team member, but in 2005, he became a driver and joined forces with John Force and Eric Medlen.
Hight had a good first season in 2005, coming fifth in points. He won two fights, made it to the final round four times, and had a record of 28-21 in 23 starts.
The next year, in 2006, Hight kept doing great things and came in second in points. He had a 35–20 record in 23 starts during his second season with John Force Racing. He won three races and made it to the final round six times.
Hight drove a Chevrolet Camaro in his 13th season with crew chief Mike Neff, co-crew chiefs Jon Schaffer and Jason McCulloch, and co-crew chiefs Mike Neff and Jason McCulloch. He first drove the California Highway Patrol car at Pomona’s Auto Club Raceway.
Later in the season, beginning with the NHRA Gator Nationals, Hight teamed up with Jimmy Prock, who used to be his crew chief, and helped him win a title. The team got off to a slow start, but they got better and won their first No. 1 spot at the New England Nationals in June.
Hight won the first race for the team at the Mile-High Nationals in Colorado. Two weeks later, he won again at the NHRA Northwest Nationals in Washington.
