10 Video Games Based on Popular Movies: Video games are usually a form of entertainment that stands on its own. They have their own history, famous characters, franchises, mythology, actors, and worlds full of tales. Video games have been around for about 50 years, so there are a lot of new ideas, good stories, and fun, enjoyable material to choose from.

The effects of this partnership between the two industries aren’t always good. Some games with low budgets and no clear direction fail when they come out. Others, on the other hand, have turned into great games because the people who made them worked harder on them. Here are ten video games based on movies, but we can’t say how good they are.

1) LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker story, the second most recent game on this list, was made by Traveller’s Tales and put out by WB Interactive Entertainment. It came out on April 4, and it was an action-adventure LEGO game for PC, PS, and Xbox.

This computer game is set in the Star Wars universe and tells the story of the Skywalker family. The story is told through all nine of the Star Wars movies, which are called “episodes.” The game has three missions, and each one has one of the three trilogies. Players can do them in any order they want.

2) Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation was made by Creative Assembly and released by SEGA. It was directly based on the first Alien movie, but it was done on a much larger scale.

In October 2014, the game came out on many different devices. The game’s main character, Amanda Ripley, is the daughter of Ellen Ripley, who was the main character in the first Alien movie and later ones as well.

She quickly sees that something is wrong because the androids are out of control, people are running around or hiding, and there is a xenomorph loose on the station.

3) Blair Witch

Blair Witch is another survival horror game based on a movie. It was made by the Bloober Team and launched by Lionsgate Games for Windows, Xbox One, and PS4 in 2019. This video game is based on the Blair Witch movies, especially the first one, The Blair Witch Project.

The game tells a new story in the same world. The main character, Ellis Lynch, goes into the Black Hills forest to help find a young boy who got lost in the woods and is now missing. Ellis goes into the forest with his dog Bullet and starts to have strange images and hallucinations. He also finds different totems and wooden carvings.

4) Evil Dead: The Game

Evil Dead: The Game, the most recent game on this list, is an asymmetrical online multiplayer game based on both the movies and the TV show. Bruce Campbell’s voice for Ashley Williams is back in the game, and you can also play as Ash’s friends and partners from the movies and the show. On May 13, 2022, the game came out.

In every match, players can choose to be either a Survivor or a Demon. The Survivors can play with up to four people at once, but only one person can handle the Demon.

The survivors need to find the secret pages of the Necronomicon to find a way to kill the Demon for good. Or, the Demon could use all of its skills and powers to try to kill all of the Survivors to stop them.

5) GoldenEye 007

GoldenEye was a James Bond spy movie from 1995. Pierce Brosnan played the smooth British MI6 agent, and Sean Bean played the bad guy, Alec Trevelyan. In 1997, Rare made and Nintendo released a game called GoldenEye 007 that was based on the movie and told the same story.

As a first-person shooter, players took on the part of James Bond and went through different stages and levels that were based on the movie. Even though the character models had fewer pixels than a camera on a cheap phone, they looked like their movie counterparts. James Bond and Sean Bean’s character Alec Trevelyan stood out as famous examples.

6) Jurassic World Evolution

Even though Jurassic World wasn’t as good as the first Jurassic Park movie, the video game based on this new movie series did much better. Frontier Developments made and released this management model video game in June 2018. It is called Jurassic World Evolution.

Players had to make the theme park from the movies and keep some older areas in good shape. With the ability to sequence genomes from different archeological sites, players can also genetically make their favorite kind of dinosaur and put it in a large enclosure with the right plants and animals.

7) Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game

In the early 1990s, Street Fighter was a very famous video game series, especially after Street Fighter II came out and helped it get a lot of attention. Because of this, it was turned into a movie called Street Fighter: The Movie, which did well at the box office. Capcom thought it would be a good idea to turn the movie into a video game.

So, the computer game Street Fighter: The Movie was made. This game was a reskin of the Street Fighter II Turbo video game, which was a bad plan from the start. The game looked and worked exactly the same as the last one, but the actors from movies were used to represent the characters.

8) The Matrix: Neo’s Path

At the time that the first movie in The Matrix series came out, the basic idea behind the movies was a big deal. This led to three movies that did very well at the box office, even though they were mostly above-average movies. Because of how famous the game was, two video games were made based on its story.

Enter the Matrix was just a cheap tie-in to the movie, but The Matrix: Path of Neo was a retelling of what happened in the movie, and players could play as Thomas Anderson, who is better known as Neo. In an action-adventure game, players went through the events of the movie, starting as a normal human plugged into the Matrix before Neo could use any of his skills.

9) Terminator: Resistance

The Terminator series was one of the most popular action movie series in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In the first movie in the series, Arnold Schwarzenegger played the iconic part of a cyborg sent from the future to kill Sarah Connor. This was something new and different that had never been seen before. Since then, there have been a lot of Terminator movies and video games, but most of them didn’t do very well.

Terminator: Resistance is the latest in a series of games based on this IP. It is both the best game in the series and the worst game of the year. It was made by Teyon and came out in November 2019. In 2021, a better version of the PS5 came out.

10) Hogwarts Legacy

Even though it could be argued that Hogwarts Legacy is based on a certain author’s books and not on the Harry Potter movies, the game’s videos clearly show that the game’s look comes straight from the movies. This game is coming out in December 2022. It was made by Avalanche Software and will be sold by WB Interactive Entertainment.

Hogwarts Legacy tries to look like the Harry Potter world that most people are familiar with, from the castle that looks like the one in the movies to the less formal robes that the students wear in the later movies to the different magical animals that come straight from the Fantastic Beasts version.

Players will be able to visit well-known places in the wizarding world like Hogwarts and Hogsmeade Village.
