Chicago Med Returns with New Faces and Fresh Drama in Season 10

An emergency room should see a steady flow of patients, and while Chicago Med’s medical staff and residents don’t rotate through patients as quickly, it might still feel that way at times. The medical drama’s eighth season, which was cut short because of the writers’ and actors’ strikes, had the feel of a rotating cast of characters.

There were fewer episodes to follow the events at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, but the writers still managed to include a great deal of drama and horror. Fans, however, are eager for Season 10 to bring things back to normal.

Following NBC’s announcement of Chicago Med Season 10’s launch date, we want to address all of your pressing concerns, including who will (and won’t) be returning, how many episodes there will be in the season, and where you can watch it.

When will ‘Chicago Med Season 10’air?

The tenth season of Chicago Med will debut on Wednesday, September 25, at 8/7c. Chicago Fire at 9/8c and Chicago P.D. at 10/9c will follow, signaling the start of One Chicago’s comeback.

Season 10 of Chicago Med will feature 22 episodes, returning to the pre-strike network television norms, as reported by TV Guide. (Season 9 was cut down to just thirteen episodes.)

In most places, those who have a Peacock membership can watch Chicago Med live online. The following day, the program is accessible on the streaming service as well.

What can we expect from ‘Chicago Med Season 10’?

The storylines from the Season 9 finale will probably be continued at the start of the season. Dr. Marcel stopped doing surgeries after learning of the death of both his patient and the patient’s father.

It’s the first step he’s taken toward healing from his tragedy when he tells Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) that he had a daughter who passed away, but it’s unclear what that implies for his future at the hospital.

Luke Mitchell’s character, Dr. Mitch Ripley, faces an unclear future at Gaffney. Dr. Ripley appeared to be in the clear after settling his medical case with Pawel Wapniarski (Kristof Konrad); but, Pawel showed up at the emergency department (ED) having been battered with a baseball bat by an unidentified individual wearing a mask.

Pawel is certain that Dr. Ripley was the culprit, and Liliana (Alet Taylor), Pawel’s sister, wants her boyfriend, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), to support them.

Dr. Charles finds himself caught in the midst of a crisis that has the potential to destroy both his professional relationship and the progress he has made with his colleague and former patient, Dr. Ripley.

Who is in the cast of ‘Chicago Med Season 10’?

Chicago Med Season 10 Cast

Three original cast members remain for the NBC drama going into season 10: Barrett, Platt, and S. Epatha Merkerson. All three recently signed contracts that will extend their tenure.

Chicago Med Season 10 cast member Dominic Rains would not be a series regular, Variety and other outlets revealed on June 23. Rains has been a part of the NBC series since Season 5 as Dr. Crockett Marcel. In the most recent season, Dr. Marcel was troubled when a young patient was denied the chance to have an organ transplant.

Dr. Marcel could relate to the father’s suicide after the child passed away, as his own young daughter had also passed away from leukemia. It’s unclear if Rains will return as a recurrent character for the season or even for a single episode to wrap up his tenure, despite the fact that he will no longer be a series regular.

Deadline revealed in early August that two more physicians have been added to the Chicago Med cast: Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever) will portray Dr. John Frost, and Sarah Ramos (Parenthood) will play Dr. Caitlin Lenox.

Here are the people we think will come back, based on how Season 9 ended:
