In recent years, there has been a surprising increase in movies and TV shows based on video games, mostly from Sony’s PlayStation library. Since movies like Uncharted and The Last of Us are getting a lot of attention, it’s no surprise that more projects are in the works.
God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn are both going to be turned into TV shows. However, Gran Turismo is going to be turned into a movie later this year. While a racing film will need to contend with the likes of Fast and Furious, this upcoming movie is set to be based on a true story of a young Gran Turismo player who aspired to be a real-life racing driver. The movie has been in the works for a while, which is good because it means we know a lot about it before it comes out.
Release Date of Gran Turismo
The Gran Turismo movie will come out on August 11, 2023, which has been confirmed.
Sony first announced this date in 2022, and the action movie was finished filming early this year. But since it is still early in 2023, there is always a chance that problems with post-production or reshoots will cause delays.
Is There Any Trailer For Gran Turismo Movie?
Even though the full trailer hasn’t been shown yet, Sony showed the first bits of footage at their CES press conference on January 4. In this short clip, we got to see scenes from the movie as well as some behind-the-scenes footage.

Based on a true story, ‘Gran Turismo’ is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race car driver.
Neill Blomkamp, known for directing District 9 and Elysium, is directing Grna Turismo, and Jason Hall (American Sniper) and Zach Baylin wrote the screenplay (Creed III). The film is being produced by Columbia Pictures, PlayStation Productions, Trigger Street Productions and 2.0 Entertainment.

Where To Watch Gran Turismo
