Jennifer Tilly made some really good friends on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and they helped her learn about reality TV. As an actress, she has a lot of experience in front of a camera, but she had never done a reality show before, and she found it to be one of the most difficult challenges in her career.
After Sutton Stracke was happy to show her “the ropes,” Jennifer came to the realization that this was one of the hardest things she had ever had to accomplish in her profession as she learned about and appreciated the drama of reality TV.
Jennifer Tilly Was Coached by Sutton Stracke When She Joined RHOBH
When Jennifer Tilly first appeared on the show, Sutton Stracke was among the Housewives who gave her the most support. They grew rather close, and when she didn’t know what to anticipate, she gave her a crash course in life skills.
Jennifer told PEOPLE, “I’m so happy I get to spend more time with Sutton because I didn’t get to see as much of her as I like in the last few years since she’s been on Housewives. Now I understand it’s so intensive.”
Jennifer is incredibly grateful to her friend for taking the time to ensure her comfort during the performance.
It’s a little daunting, so she’s kind of showing me the ropes, which is amazing, Jennifer said. She is an excellent housewife. “You need to do this or you need to do that,” is how blunt [she] is.
Sutton was delighted to assist and thoroughly enjoyed observing the distinctions between a reality TV program and a scripted program.
“We don’t cut, so when I saw [her] come on with us, I was like, ‘No, no, no. You genuinely just converse, so we don’t say “action because it’s not scripted,” Sutton explained.
After going through both, Jennifer said, “It’s way harder than acting.” Actually, you’re simply winging it as you go along. You are authentic. We are sincere.
Jennifer Enjoys The Drama On RHOBH
As a devoted follower of the Real Housewives series, Jennifer Tilly was thrilled to be joining the cast. She struggled to get used to the new dynamic at first, but she soon discovered that she like the spontaneity and had a great time.
Jennifer compared working on the show to working with Martin Scorsese.
“My boyfriend always says he wants to go into space and feel zero gravity if he gets $40 million.” Being on Housewives seems like there is no gravity to me. Meeting Erika Jayne, Kyle Richards, and the other women delighted me more than meeting Elizabeth Taylor.
It’s like working with Martin Scorsese for me,” Jennifer remarked about joining the show.
She found this unusual and fascinating experience to be highly entertaining, and she discovered very soon that she was a drama queen.
“You enter without bringing a script. She said, “It seems like they just wade in there and get to work.”
“In real life, you get horrified and think, ‘Oh my God,’ when you see people in a restaurant screaming at each other. It’s unbelievable that I’m around such impolite people. However, I get the feeling that I am sitting in the front row of the Super Bowl when I am seated at a table with Housewives.
