While Reagan was in office, Ingraham was one of his speechwriters. After getting her law degree, she worked as a clerk for the New York-based Second Circuit Court of Appeals and later for Justice Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court of the United States. She also contributed to the New York office of the prestigious law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. The middle of the 1990s marked the beginning of Ingraham’s time in the media. Ingraham is well-known for her staunch defense of Donald Trump and her role as an unofficial counsellor to the president.

Laura Ingraham has been linked to prominent politicians and commentators like Dinesh D’Souza throughout the years. According to reports, Ingraham and D’Souza were engaged but later broke up.
In 1999, there were speculations that Ingraham was dating politician Robert Torricelli; however, neither person addressed the accusations. In April 2005, Ingraham became engaged to James V. Reyes, however, they ultimately broke off their engagement.

Despite her lack of a marital commitment, Ingraham has begun raising a family. She has adopted three children and raised them as her own. In 2008, she adopted a little girl from Guatemala, and in 2009 and 2011, she adopted two sons from Russia.

Laura Ingraham Early life/Education
Ingraham was born to Anne Caroline (née Kozak) and James Frederick Ingraham III in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Her paternal grandparents were also immigrants, this time from Poland, while her father’s lineage was Irish and English. In 1981, she received her diploma from Glastonbury High.
Ingraham graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art history from Dartmouth in 1985. After that, she went to law school at the University of Virginia, where she served as a notes editor for the Virginia Law Review. In 1991 she completed law school and earned her J.D.

Ingraham served as the Domestic Policy Advisor’s speechwriter in the Reagan administration throughout the late ’80s. She was also the editor of the Princeton University alumni magazine, The Prospect, for a short time.
As soon as she graduated from law school in 1991, she began working as a law clerk for the Honorable Ralph K. Winter Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York, and then she went on to do the same for the Honorable Clarence Thomas of the United States Supreme Court.
