When and Where was Luke Skywalker born?
Luke Skywalker was born on the asteroid field of Polis Massa in 19 BBY, which was two days after the Galactic Empire was announced. He and his twin sister Leia, who was born a few minutes after him, are the children of Galactic Republic Senator Padmé Amidala, who died soon after the births, and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, who had recently turned to the dark side of the Force.
Obi-Wan Kenobi sent Luke to be raised by Anakin’s stepbrother Owen Lars and his wife Beru on the planet Tatooine to keep the children safe from the Empire and their father, who had become the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Bail Organa agreed to adopt Leia and raise her with his wife, the queen of Alderaan.

Luke Skywalker in Obi-Wan Kenobi
Stuart Beattie’s script for an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie said that when Kenobi left Tatooine, he left Luke Skywalker in the care of clone trooper Cody. This was supposed to be a side story that the movie would cut to.
Cody was planned as a way to show how disconnected Kenobi was from the Force because he forced his will on young Skywalker. This is similar to how Superman lost his powers in the 1980 movie Superman II. Kenobi would join a group of people who are running away from the Empire.
Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian
In “Chapter 16: The Rescue” of The Mandalorian, Max Lloyd Jones played the role physically, and Matt Rugetti did the stunts. Jones was filmed with the whole cast, while Hamill was filmed when most of the cast and crew were outside of the studio.
They had watched each other act out the parts and tried to do the same thing. Digital de-aging was used to make the character look like a young Luke Skywalker, and an app called Respeecher was used to create the character’s voice from scratch.
To keep this from getting out, Luke Skywalker’s name was written as Plo Koon in the scripts, and a concept drawing was made of Plo Koon destroying dark troopers.
