Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, better known by his stage name The Kid Laroi, was born on August 17, 2003, in Waterloo, New South Wales, Australia. His real name is The Kid Laroi. His mother, Sloane, is of Aboriginal descent, and she worked in the music industry as a talent manager, music executive, and record label founder in her previous life.
Laroi’s father, Nick, is a successful music producer and sound engineer. Howard is of Indigenous Australian Kamilaroi origin; he adopted the stage name “Laroi” based on the Kamilaroi people; Howard’s great-great-grandfather was a member of the “Stolen Generation.” His great-great-grandfather was taken from his family as part of the “Stolen Generation.”
His parents got a divorce when he was four years old. After that, he relocated with his mother, brother, and grandparents to the rural town of Broken Hill, which is located in the state of New South Wales.
