The big anniversary event for Pokémon Go adds more Pokémon with party hats and Timed Research that can only be done during the event. From July 6 to July 12, a lot of Pokémon will spawn, but the regional Pokémon Pansear, which is usually only available in Europe, will show up in Timed Research, in the wild, and in raids. This is your chance to get a Pansear if you haven’t already.
Timed Research on the Pokémon Go Anniversary
Research Step 1 of Anniversary Event
- Catch 15 Pokémon (15 Poké Ball)
- Get 5 different kinds of Pokémon (10 Great Balls)
- Do 5 good throws (5 Ultra Balls)
- Do 3 good throws (500 XP)
- Throw five curveballs (Foongus encounter)
- You can catch Pokémon by using 10 berries (500 Stardust)
- Pikachu (with a birthday hat) and 1 Poffin.
Research Step 2 of Anniversary Event

- Play with your buddy (5 Razz Berries)
- Give a treat to your friend (5 Nanab Berries)
- Get a picture of your friend (5 Pinap Berries)
- When you go on an adventure with your Pokémon friend, you can fight another trainer with it (500 XP)
- Get five hearts with your friend (Eevee encounter)
- Explore with your friend and find a candy (500 Stardust)
- Charmander (with a birthday hat) and a Poffin.
Research Step 3 of the Anniversary Event
- Take five pictures of Pokémon in the wild (5 Potions)
- Charmander should be photographed (5 Revives)
- Snap a picture of your friend (15 Poké Balls).
- Snap a picture of five different Pokémon (500 XP)
- Take a picture of a Pokémon that is a normal type (Meowth encounter)
- Take pictures of three different wild Pokémon that are either fire, water, or grass types (500 Stardust)
Research Step 4 of the Anniversary Event
- Spin 5 PokéStops or gyms (20 Poké Balls)
- Hatch an egg (3 Golden Razz Berries)
- Walk 2 km (3 Silver Pinap Berries)
- Explore with your friend and find a candy (500 XP)
- Do five tasks related to field research (3 Rare Candy)
- Three times, they fought in a gym (500 Stardust)
- Gives you a chance to meet Gible and 1 Premium Raid Pass.
Research Step 5 of the Anniversary Event
- Send five gifts to friends (20 Super Potions)
- Send five gifts to friends, and add a sticker to each one (35 Revives)
- Transfer 15 Pokémon (500 XP)
- Two raids on the battle (1 Fast TM)
- Win a raid at level 1 or higher (1 Charge TM)
- Ten times, power up your Pokémon (500 Stardust)
- Snorlax will appear, and you’ll get a Rocket Radar.
Research Step 6 of the Anniversary Event
- Claim reward (1,000 XP)

Wash Rotom will appear, and you’ll get 2,500 XP.
