Donatella Versace Seemingly Having a Soft Spot for Academy Award-Winning Actors Anne Hathaway and Cillian Murphy!
Given that actors Anne Hathaway and Cillian Murphy have been chosen to front the new Versace Icons collection campaign, which will be officially revealed on Wednesday, it is clear that Donatella Versace has a soft spot for Academy Award winners.
According to reports, this is Hathaway’s first time back in the role and Murphy’s first time as the brand’s face, making their debuts in tandem with Versace Icons’ first men’s collection.
“Iconic, straightforward, and powerful. I think that Cillian and Anne are two of the greatest performers working today. Looking their finest, they are incredibly accomplished, lovely people that I adore and respect. Very Versace,” remarked Donatella Versace, chief creative officer of the company.
Posing for photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the performers appear in a series of colored and black-and-white pictures designed by Jacob K. For example, in one of the photos, Hathaway wears a whole denim costume consisting of a bustier top, jacket, and pants adorned with the brand’s signature Medusa insignia.
Hathaway, a Hollywood elite with an approachable charm because to her fresh image and girl-next-door demeanor, epitomizes the Icons project’s desire for timeless and commonplace house designs. Tailoring is an important aspect of the collection, with highlights including a women’s cropped raglan jacket with couture-like rounded shoulders and men’s fitted jackets with metal Medusa Biggie accents across the breast pocket.
Medusa or Barocco designs are also used to elevate common styles, such as cotton trenchcoats, while leather pieces include a dress in silky napa with a bodice that flatters the body.
“Like Donatella, I have encountered a great deal of Versace women who are strong, emotionally open, ambitious, substantive, humorous, ferocious, loving, unique, s*xy, intelligent, talented, and giving. Hathaway remarked, “I’ve noticed that a Versace Woman is herself.

Murphy echoed, saying, “Working with Donatella produced a campaign that reflects who I am—from sharing image references to choosing Fountains D.C.’s music for the video.” Murphy also added that the “collection of well-cut empowering designs made from great fabric suits me perfectly.”
Murphy won the Academy Award for Best Actor last month for his performance in “Oppenheimer.” He wore an Atelier Versace tuxedo with a gold Sauvereign brooch as an accessory.
