About Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba

The manga for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba began serialization in 2016, with a fantastic blend of action, comedy, and captivating characters (I’m looking at you, Nezuko!).

The author was inspired by several well-known manga, especially Gintama, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Naruto, Bleach, and Berserk, which I highly recommend!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is set in Japan’s Taisho era (1912 to 1926). Rumors of man-eating demons have spread, and many don’t go out at night due to fear. However, the young and humble Tanjiro learned firsthand that those horrifying rumors were true.

One day, as Tanjiro returns home from selling charcoal, he finds the bodies of his family decimated by demons. His younger sister, Nezuko, was the only survivor, though she also turned into a demon.

Surprisingly, despite the brutal nature of demons, Nezuko still showed signs of humanity, giving Tanjiro hope that he could revert her state.

This marks the beginning of Tanjiro and Nezuko’s journey, slaying demons and searching for the one that killed their family and a way to revert her condition!

As the founder of the best anime subscription box ever, I pay close attention to the tastes of my subscribers, and Demon Slayer frequently gets voted to have anime merch items created and included in the monthly boxes—a testament to the show’s popularity.

The manga officially ended in May 2020 with 205 chapters.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 4 Release Date

The new season was announced after airing the eleventh and last episode of season 3 in 2023. It’s a direct continuation of the third season and will adapt the Hashira Training Arc.

Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 4 is set for Spring 2024, which means it begins airing in April this year! However, episode one will receive an early premiere in theaters across the globe as part of a one-hour-long special screening. Fans will get to see their beloved characters earlier than expected.

The Plot Of The Hashira Training Arc

As mentioned earlier, in season 4, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba adapts the Hashira Training Arc. It’s a short arc that spans eight chapters, from 128 to 136.

After the Blacksmith Village Arc events, Tanjiro sees the Stone Hashira, Himejima, to prepare for future battles against demons. The training to become a Hashira is intense, and earning Himejima’s approval feels impossible, but Tanjiro isn’t willing to give up!

Meanwhile, the demon lord, Muzan, and the new powerful demons continue their search for Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.

What Should You Expect From “Kimetsu no Yaiba: To the Hashira Training”?

The title is “Kimetsu no Yaiba: To the Hashira Training,” which will be the last episode of Season 3, which is around 50 minutes long, and the first episode of Season 4 (which should also be about one hour long).

The film was announced as a second World Tour showing in 4K IMAX. It’ll only be available in theaters and across various countries!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 4 Episode 1 Release Date

With all the information available on the official website and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, I can confirm there are two release dates for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 4 Episode 1:

  • The Regular airing of season 4, the Hashira Training Arc, begins in April 2024;
  • The early premiere of the special film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training will air in Japan on February 2, 2024, and on undisclosed days worldwide within the same month.

Conclusion

The fourth season of Kimetsu no Yaiba is just around the corner. And the early premiere of episode one this February 2024 makes me excited!

Some fans are worried that a short arc like the Hashira Training doesn’t have enough material for an entire season. But we can only guess how producers will handle that. We don’t know if more of the overall story will be covered in the same season, and that’s part of the fun.
