Is PUBG Coming to Nintendo Switch? PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG, is one of the most popular battle royale games in the world. It came out first on PC in 2017, then on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In 2018, PUBG Mobile, a form of the game made for phones, came out.
But what about the Nintendo Switch, a hybrid system that can be played both at home and on the go? Is PUBG on the Switch or is it coming?
PUBG isn’t on Nintendo Switch
The answer is no, which is too bad. The Nintendo Switch does not have PUBG. On the hybrid system, you can’t find either the full version or the mobile version. PUBG isn’t on the Switch for a number of reasons, but the main one is probably that it would be hard to move the game to the less powerful hardware.
People know that PUBG is a hard game that needs a high-end PC or device specs to run well. Even on Xbox One and PS4, the game had trouble being optimized and running well. Even though the Nintendo Switch is flexible and new, it is not as powerful as other platforms or PCs.
It would be hard to get PUBG to run on the Switch at a good speed and resolution without hurting the quality and experience of the game.
Switch is Not Going to Get PUBG
It doesn’t look like PUBG will ever be on the Nintendo Switch, at least not in the way it is now. The developers or publishers of PUBG haven’t said anything public about a possible Switch port, and there hasn’t been any news about it either.
In fact, in an interview with Bloomberg in 2017, Bluehole founder Chang Byung-gyu said that they had talked to every major console maker about PUBG and that the Xbox One and PS4 were the current goals for ports. There was nothing at all said about the Nintendo Switch.
Even if PUBG Mobile, which is made for smartphones and runs on ARM architecture, was moved to the Switch, it would still have some problems. One thing is that PUBG Mobile is only available in China. It hasn’t been released everywhere else yet.
Also, if you want to play PUBG Mobile online with other people, you need an internet link, which may not always be available or stable on the Switch when you play in handheld mode.
There are Games Besides PUBG for the Nintendo Switch
If you like battle royale games and have a Nintendo Switch, you might be upset that you can’t play PUBG on it. But there are some other games that might give you the online multiplayer fun you’re looking for.
Here are some of the best games you can play on Nintendo Switch instead of PUBG:
- Fortnite is the most clear and popular choice for battle royale fans. Fortnite is free to play, can be played on multiple platforms, and is always getting new material and features. It looks more like a cartoon and has more colors than PUBG. Its building techniques and items are also more creative and come in a wider range of styles.
- Apex Legends is another battle royale game that is free to play and has become very popular since it came out in 2019. Apex Legends takes place in a sci-fi world, and each character has their own skills and personality. It also moves faster and has more fluid movement than PUBG. It also has a ping system that makes it easy to talk to friends.
- Tetris 99 is a spin on the classic puzzle game that will surprise and hook you. In Tetris 99, you play against 98 other people in a mad race to clear the board of blocks. You have to clear lines and send trash to your opponents while staying out of their way. It’s easy but hard, and you need to think quickly and have a plan.
- Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a fun and silly party game that mixes battle royale and obstacle courses. In Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, you can play minigames with up to 59 other people who test your skills, luck, and ability to work as a team. You have to make it through each round until the final fight, where only one person can win.

Conclusion
PUBG isn’t on Nintendo Switch, and it probably won’t be any time soon. The game’s requirements are too high for the Switch’s hardware, and neither the creators nor the publishers have shown that they are working on a port.
But you can play battle royale games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Tetris 99, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout on your Switch. These games are different from PUBG in terms of style and gameplay, but playing them online with other people is still fun and exciting.
