Should I Kill McKay Far Cry 6? Games like Far Cry 6 aren’t known for letting the player choose what to do. This is a pure action-adventure game, and the RPG parts are not important at all. There are no choices for romance, or even hints that there might be some. As with the other games in the series, almost every hero and foe dies in a way that can’t be changed.
The key word here is “almost.” At the end of the Legends/La Moral questline in Far Cry 6, there is a bit of a surprise. McKay makes things worse when he tries to kill Dani and ends up killing some of her friends instead. But instead of getting even, Juan Cortez tries to make a deal. What is the correct answer?
The choice hasn’t changed, and neither have the effects. Players who choose to let McKay live or kill him don’t have to worry about a patch or update that changes or gets rid of this choice. But, even with that in mind, this game with few character choices makes players really think about the few choices they do have.
Unless an expansion or DLC adds more to it, this choice is likely to be the most talked about in the community. This guide has been updated with more details about what happens in both of the player choices.
Letting Mckay Live is Not a Good Choice
- 5,000 Pesos as a reward
- Dani’s teammates are disappointed
McKay keeps his promise and gives a huge amount of money to the cause. Dani gets 5,000 pesos that she can use to buy upgrades and things at the shop. It might seem like the right thing to do for a good guy to help the cause, put payback second, and make a lot of money in the process.
But it’s clear that this makes the rebels feel down. Most people in the area feel like they need to tell Dani that they think he cheated them and sold them out.
And not just once; they keep thinking about it even after they’ve won the game. Even though 5,000 pesos might feel nice, they are not very important cash by the end of the game.
Kill McKay is Recommended
- Reward: Canadians, Eh? A bracelet
- The revolutionaries appreciate Dani
If 5,000 pesos seems like too much to give up, Dani shouldn’t let that stop her from making the right choice. When McKay dies, a few extra lines of conversation are added, and the guerrillas give Dani the Canadians as a reward, Eh. a bracelet. This item can only be won through the task. Even if you had all the Moneda in the world, you couldn’t buy it.
Dani gets pesos for each enemy she kills with poison. With the right weapons, she can make up the 5,000 pesos she lost because of the choice. This is a rare item and the only way to get it is to kill McKay. Pesos can be bought again, but this is your only chance to get this band.
Most importantly, Dani’s decision to put the cause ahead of money for the rest of the game has inspired rebels, who thank him for it. This is the only choice for players who want to be liked by their teammates. Unlike the rebels, Juan does not say anything about the choice, no matter what the player chooses.
