Funke Akindele Marriage! Why and How it Crashed?

For the nth time, a prominent Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, is in the headlines for the wrong reasons – this time, the actress’ long-term marriage has crumbled.

While no one wants to break a marriage, especially one involving two superstars – Funke and JJC Skillz – who have become role models for today’s and tomorrow’s lovers, it is not out of place to learn when the sweet-sweet love turns sour.

In this line of thinking, we have compiled compelling factors that might have precipitated the duo’s split.

Skillz Confirms Rumours

JJC Skillz announced his divorce from his estranged wife on his Instagram profile on Thursday morning, June 30, 2022.

“Dear friends and family, I regret to inform you that Funke and I have split,” he wrote. We shared a lot of things together and had two wonderful children while it lasted. We have had a very challenging two years. I know I did everything I could to mend it, but I feel it is now beyond repair.

“I moved out of the house three months ago at Funke’s request.” Aside from the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, I have been unable to get Funke to sit down and talk about the future of our relationship.

“I’m making this declaration so that the world understands that we’re both living different lives.” We still have issues to resolve, including the custody and well-being of our children, which is critical, as well as commercial interests that must be separated. But I have no faith that these issues will be handled in some fashion.”

Joint Business Issues Between Lovers

While many praised Funke and JJC for combining their abilities to build and operate many enterprises in the entertainment sector, the couple, as speculated in the media, had many difficulties managing business earnings and clashing over who controlled what in their various assets.

From movies to music, they both pulled out their expertise and resources to create new sectors of investment, but there appear to be no particular guidelines to protect both sides’ interests.

Benito, Funke’s stepson, has already criticized his contentious stepmother on social media.

Benito detailed multiple bombshell charges of adultery on the side of the actress and his father, JJC Skillz, in an Instagram Live video broadcast via his profile on Friday, May 20, 2022. The youngster had made public his parents’ approaching death marriage.

According to information supplied by the couple’s kid, JJC Skillz and Funke were both cheaters; they were both mutually involved in adultery, which resulted in a major confrontation.

JJC Skillz, on the other hand, refuted rumors of a troubled marriage while extolling his wife, Funke, whose marriage to his spouse has resulted in twin kids.

Around the same time, Benito resorted to social media to claim that everything was not well in the actress’s house. Both JJC and Funke, he claims, cheated on each other. “Funke blames everyone for dating my father, yet your favorite cheated on my father,” he continued. My father also cheated.

“They do not share a bedroom. They haven’t slept in the same bed in almost two years.”

Marital, Dating History

Although this is not Funke’s first marriage, JJC has never been married before, despite having three children from three separate women. JJC and she married in May 2016 in the United Kingdom, where JJC was born.

In May 2012, Funke married her first husband, Kehinde Oloyede, who is the current chairman of the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government in Lagos. However, the couple divorced in July 2013, just a year later, citing irreconcilable differences.

Funke said that the marriage did not work out in August 2021, telling media personality Chude Jideonwo, “I got into the (first) marriage (and) it did not work out.” It everything went downhill on social media. There was a lot of noise. I was really filming when I got the phone; I wanted to die…”

“As a young girl out there, do not be coerced into getting married,” the actress stated of the lessons she learned from her failed marriage. Get married because you like the guy and want to spend the rest of your life with him, not merely to get married.”

JJC, for his part, had never been married before meeting Funke, but he now has three children.

Mella, one of his children’s moms, was recently in the headlines when she and her son, Benito, revealed that everything was not well with JJC and Funke’s marriage.

In a series of Instagram postings, she accused Funke of being crazy and mistreating her kid. She also publicized the identities of the couple’s twin children, despite their parents’ wishes.

“First, I want to underline what sort of lady Funke Akindele is,” she said in one of her April 2022 posts. She portrays herself as a darling, but this is only a skillfully created public relations persona.
