Christopher Landon will direct the upcoming American thriller Drop, which he adapted from a screenplay by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach. Ed Weeks, Brandon Sklenar, Meghann Fahy, Brandon Sklenar, Brandon Self, Gabrielle Ryan Spring, and Violett Beane are among the cast members.
The forthcoming Christopher Landon-directed thriller Drop, which will feature Violett Beane and Meghan Fahy, has been assigned a release date by Blumhouse.
The film, which was only recently announced earlier this year, is scheduled to make its theatrical début on Friday, April 11, 2025, according to Deadline. In addition to Bean and Fahy, Brandon Sklenar, Ed Weeks, and Jacob Robinson, all of whom are newcomers, will appear in Drop.
Currently, nothing is known about the project, except that it is touted as “a fast-paced thriller.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach developed the script for Drop. Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller, and Cameron Fuller will produce the film, with Sam Lerner as an executive producer. Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes worked on the Purge franchise. Universal will distribute the movie when it is released.
Blumhouse Continues to Set Its 2025 Calendar
Along with the announcement of Drop, Blumhouse has announced release dates for many of its most anticipated projects for next year. The studio stated that The Woman in the Yard, an upcoming film starring Danielle Deadwyler, will be released on March 28, 2025.
In other news, Blumhouse has once again postponed the release of the M3GAN sequel, while confirming a release date for the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel. The Black Phone 2, which is also in development, will now be released in October 2025 rather than June.
Production of Drop
It was declared in February 2024 that a new thriller film titled Drop, helmed by Christopher Landon and written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach was in production. The main role of Meghann Fahy had been cast in the film.
Brandon Sklenar commenced his role in the film’s cast in March. Jacob Robinson, Jeffrey Self, Gabrielle Ryan Spring, and Violett Beane were added to the ensemble in April. The following month, Ed Weeks was added to the cast.
