The official Twitter account for the Blue Lock series by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Ysuke Nomura disclosed the release window for the anime’s second season on Monday, May 6, 2024. In observance of the announcement, a unique illustration was created by Ysuke Nomura.
In 2018, Ysuke Nomura and Muneyuki Kaneshiro published the manga in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Subsequent to its initial release, the manga has garnered considerable acclaim, culminating in its triumphant acquisition of the Best Shōnen Manga award in 2021. On May 16, Kodansha, the publishing house responsible for the manga, will release the 29th compiled volume of the series.
When will Season 2 of Blue Lock Premiere?
Season one of Blue Lock premiered between October 2022 and March 2023. The anime covered eleven volumes (approximately ninety chapters) of the manga, which debuted in 2018, in its twenty-four episodes.
Although we have confirmation that a second season is in production, the exact duration of this endeavor remains unknown. We have received no additional information regarding a release date as of April 2024; therefore, it would come as a complete surprise if the program returned this year.
However, there is some positive news. Blue Lock’s official accounts announced a few months after the second season was confirmed that a spin-off film entitled Blue Lock: Episode Nagi would be released in Japan in the spring of 2024.

Subsequently, confirmation has been received that the film will be released in Japanese theaters on April 19; however, international distribution remains unknown.
As its title implies, the film will be a prequel centered on Seishiro Nagi, a pivotal character from the original series. Nagi, who at the beginning of the show was a distant and despondent adolescent, transformed into one of its most formidable competitors after a rivalry with Isagi sparked an ardent desire to succeed.
Blue Lock Season 2: All of the Information Available
The Blue Lock series’ official Twitter account revealed the second season’s release window, as was previously mentioned. As part of the 2024 Fall anime schedule, Blue Lock season 2 will air in October, though the precise date has not yet been disclosed.
Information about the cast is likewise not given. It is anticipated that the actors that play the primary characters would come back to continue their roles.
