Azusa Itakura is the author and illustrator of the Japanese manga series Ripe for the Picking. In April 2020, Houbunsha’s Weekly Manga Times magazine released it as a one-shot. Later, in July 2020, it started a full serialization in the same magazine. An adaptation of a live-action drama for television ran from January to March of 2024.
The narrative centers on Kosaka Maiko, a 32-year-old office worker who resolves to reclaim agency over her life by undertaking an erotic reawakening journey. Initially broadcast in Japan on TBS from January 23, 2024, to March 19, 2024, was Season 1. There isn’t an official release date for Ripe for the Picking Season 2, but one will probably be revealed eventually. TBS does not appear to have given the go-ahead for Ripe for the Picking’s second season as of April 2024.
