Netflix discontinued Monarca after two seasons, so there is currently no release date for Season 3. Juan Manuel Bernal, who portrays Joaquin Carranza, verified on Instagram in March 2021 that a third season of Monarca would not be produced.

“Everything that this news has caused has left me extremely appreciative, moved, and surprised—that the Netflix platform has finally, I believe, confirmed that the third season of Monarca has been canceled,” he said. Bernal continued, “Thank you to all the fans of our series; I have never had so much communication with countries whose existence I was unaware of; those who have written to me and are a little upset are because of our series.”
The actor continued by stating that he could appreciate the audience’s distress in light of this information. “While I can appreciate your frustration, I do not feel qualified to be the recipient of your annoyance,” he continued, adding, “I sympathize with you; I am slightly displeased because the series did not conclude as it ought to have; we needed to give it a conclusion; however, that is not my prerogative, nor is it ours; the platform makes that determination.”

Juan Manuel Bernal portrays Joaquín Carranza, Irene Azuela portrays Ana María Carranza, and Osvaldo Benavides portrays Andrés Carranza round out the ensemble of Monarca. Additionally, Rosa María Bianchi and Antonio de la Vega are cast as Cecilia Carranza and Bernardo, respectively.
