The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the second season of A League of Their Own will appear. Yet there’s more to the story than meets the eye (pun intended). The show’s cancellation follows its disappointing second season.
Hopefully, the final four episodes will wrap up any loose ends and build up some exciting new conflicts as the series comes to a close. The renewal comes after months of negotiations with Sony to reduce the show’s licensing price, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The decreased number of episodes necessitated new contracts for the performers as well.
A League of Their Own season 2 Release date
The premiere date for the upcoming and final season has not yet been revealed, but given that the show was only recently renewed, viewers will likely have to wait a while. The second season should return to TV around the middle of 2024. But in what state do the key characters end Season 1?
At the end of the first season, Carson Shaw made the tough choice to leave both her well-meaning military hubby and her new girlfriend, Greta Gill (D’Arcy Carden), who was also a member of the Rockford Peaches. Jo leaves the Rockford Peaches after being dismissed and joins a new team, and Maxine undergoes personal growth and decides to branch out on her own, joining Esther’s squad with her love interest Clance.
