American singer Howard Kane. His stage name was Howie Kane, although he was better known as a member of Jay and the Americans. Jay & the Americans included his vocals. Howie was one of Jay & The Americans‘ two singers (together with Jay Traynor) from 1960 until 1973, and he returned to the reunited band in 2006.

Howie Kane Career
Founded in the late ’50s, Jay & The Americans is a legendary American rock band. Jay & The Americans had ten Top 40 songs in the United States between 1962 and 1969. The song “Come A Little Bit Closer” from 2017’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2” helped the album sell an additional 2.6 million copies.
Co-lead singer and original member John “Jay” Traynor passed away in 2014. Sandy Deanne continued touring with Jay & The Americans up until the time of Howie’s death.

Jay & The Americans‘ Howie Kane, alias Howard Kirchembaum, has died at the age of 78.
This sad news was shared by Dennis Tufano on his social media account. This declaration reads,
“Howie Kane from Jay and the Americans has passed. He was the greatest guy, the real deal and funny. AKA The Chick Magnet will be missed. A piece of my heart goes with him. God Bless my friend. Condolences to Jay and the Americans family and friends. Rest in Peace Howie.”
Howie is survived by his brother Stuart and his family, as well as his wife Gayle and their children Sammy, Sarah, and Justin.
Howie Kane’s Cause of Death
The life of Howard Kirchembaum, aka Howie Kane, ended on March 27, 2023. His specific cause of death was not revealed. Howie recently died in a vehicle crash. Jay and the rest of The Americans have expressed their deepest sympathies to Howie by saying,
The history of both Jay and The Americans has been destroyed. Howie Kane, also known as The Chick Magnet, has passed away. Howie was a great friend to everyone he met, and he was much more than just a founding member.
The rest of the band really appreciated his laid-back demeanor both on and offstage. Sandy, Marty, and I are devastated by Howie’s passing, but we know that he will always be with us in spirit.
“On a more personal note, Howie was a wonderful friend of mine and he and Sandy were both there for me at the beginning of my journey with Jay and The Americans. It will be strange not to see Howie on stage after spending the past sixteen and a half years with him. To Howie, best of luck!
