Howie Kane’s Cause of Death

The life of Howard Kirchembaum, aka Howie Kane, ended on March 27, 2023. His specific cause of death was not revealed. Howie recently died in a vehicle crash. Jay and the rest of The Americans have expressed their deepest sympathies to Howie by saying,

The history of both Jay and The Americans has been destroyed. Howie Kane, also known as The Chick Magnet, has passed away. Howie was a great friend to everyone he met, and he was much more than just a founding member.

The rest of the band really appreciated his laid-back demeanor both on and offstage. Sandy, Marty, and I are devastated by Howie’s passing, but we know that he will always be with us in spirit.

On a more personal note, Howie was a wonderful friend of mine and he and Sandy were both there for me at the beginning of my journey with Jay and The Americans. It will be strange not to see Howie on stage after spending the past sixteen and a half years with him. To Howie, best of luck!
