Apple isn’t interested in simply updating its top-tier iPhone models. A new iPhone SE is expected to reflect the company’s focus on the lower end of the market. According to recent rumors, Apple will release a new iPhone SE with several significant upgrades in the first half of 2022 and it has been reported that this is Apple’s cheapest phone yet. Surely Apple doesn’t just do that.

The information originated from a well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The same news circulated in the past too. Hence, there’s a chance that things can adhere to his assumptions.

Here’s all we know about the upcoming iPhone SE.

iPhone SE 3 Specifications

The 2022 iPhone SE 3 is projected to be of a compact design with flagship capabilities, similar to the previous iPhone SE models. In contrast to the iPhone SE 2020, which fitted a broad top and bottom bezels and bottom bezels and a small screen, the SE 3 is expected to have a bathtub notch, that will greatly increase the screen’s size. Apple has yet to reveal how it will separate between the two models, or if it will be faster and better than the current 12-inch iPhone 12 Mini.

Some other phone renders show Bicolor versions of the device, which have a dual-tone color scheme. The Apple logo is prominently displayed in the center, and 50 percent of the rear panel is a bit darker than the other half.

The phone has a notch display, but it’s nothing like the iPhone 13’s screen. The notch and button placements are identical to those on the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, respectively.

iPhone SE 2022 Price

Apple’s next iPhone SE will be marketed as the first 5G iPhone to be available at an entry-level price point. It’s fair to assume that Apple’s latest lineup will be less pricy than the iPhone 12 mini which is currently priced at $699. 
We are not yet sure whether the upcoming iPhone will be backed up by mmWave 5G in and sub-6GHz frequencies.
However, it is unknown to what extent or whether Apple could easily modify the iPhone 8’s body to accommodate the antenna modules required for a decent mmWave reception, as it was never designed to accommodate such.
A month ago, Nikkei Asia claimed that Qualcomm’s X60 modem would be used in the iPhone SE. The X60 is also expected to be used in the iPhone 13. Back in October, the Japanese Apple news site Macotakara confirmed the rumors of 5G support for the company’s iPhones.

That being said, the iPhone SE 3 is unlikely to bring anything new to the table in terms of both functionality and aesthetics. The Apple A14 Bionic chipset, found in the current iPhone 12 series, is expected to power the device.
