In Los Angeles, work has started on the new thriller Mercy from Amazon MGM, which stars Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson. The movie, which is slated for release in 2025 and is being directed by Timur Bekmambetov, who is well-known for his work on Wanted, is gaining interest as a potential addition to the sci-fi thriller genre.
On his social media accounts, Bekmambetov recently posted some behind-the-scenes pictures from the set. Amazon MGM purchased the worldwide theater rights to the film in January, demonstrating the project’s widespread appeal. Pratt and Ferguson, among other high-profile cast members, contributed to this appeal. Charles Roven produced the film.

The cast has grown in recent weeks to include Kali Reis, who won praise for her portrayal in True Detective: Night County, and Annabelle Wallis, who gained recognition for her part in Malignant. Rafi Garon, Chris Sullivan, Kenneth Choi, and Kylie Rogers have reportedly joined the movie as well, according to Deadline.
Marco van Belle wrote the screenplay, which places the plot in a near-future setting with rising rates of capital crime. The story revolves around a detective, played by Pratt, who has to prove his innocence after being falsely accused of a heinous crime. Though there are unmistakable similarities to The Fugitive, thrillers like this are a great addition to any multiplex.
Is ‘Mercy’ Coming Out on Amazon or in Theaters?

With production accelerating, it is anticipated that Mercy will serve as an additional incentive for audiences to return to multiplexes and sustain the worldwide box office renaissance.
Salke stated, “As soon as Chuck Roven introduced us to Mercy and we read Marco van Belle’s screenplay, we knew the film was destined for the big screen.” “As our collaboration with Chris Pratt, star of The Tomorrow War and The Terminal List, expands to the realm of cinema, we eagerly anticipate witnessing him embody the fervor of this action narrative under the direction of Timur Bekmambetov and under the guidance of Chuck.”
We eagerly await audiences’ opportunities to witness this enthralling thrill ride, and we could not have picked a more suitable star or filmmaking crew to execute the concept and implement it with.
