On Wednesday, the Ludhiana court of extra district judge denied a request to postpone the premiere of “Amar Singh Chamkila,” the movie starring Imtiaz Ali. Netflix is scheduled to premiere the film, starring Diljit Dosanjh, on Friday, April 12.
The film is based on the lives of Amar Singh Chamkila, a Punjabi musician who was killed, and Amarjot Kaur, his partner.
The court of Additional District Judge Shatin Goyal has postponed the motion and given the producers enough time to submit a written response but has declined to issue any injunction orders regarding the movie’s release. The hearing is scheduled for May 6th.

Plea Against ‘Chamkila’
On April 8, Ishdeep Singh Randhawa of Patiala submitted a petition requesting a “perpetual injunction” against the release of the film.

The Next Hearing is on May 6
The adjournment of the case until May 6 was verified by Window Seat Films and Reliance Entertainment’s producers and attorneys, Siddharth Sharma Tejas and Ravinder Kumar Sharma, respectively.
