Kate Ritchie, a former star of Home and Away, has addressed some sly rumors regarding her romantic life. The 45-year-old radio host has responded to reports that she was “crushing” on 34-year-old Australian Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo.
When co-hosts Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald and Michael “Wippa” Wipfli revealed to Ritchie on Thursday’s Fitzy & Wippa radio show that she had been connected to the athlete in a magazine, Ritchie was left in stitches.
At the last Melbourne Grand Prix, speculation regarding the “chemistry” between Ricciardo and Ritchie—despite the latter’s relationship with actress Heidi Berger—grew.
In light of the fact that Daniel is in a relationship with Heidi Berger, Kate was perplexed to discover that she and Daniel had been linked and that rumors of their alleged “chemistry” had circulated. Heidi, who is a model, has familial ties to Formula One; her father, Gerhard Berger, was a reigning champion.
The actress and presenter made a jest that Heidi might not approve of the rumor. “To be honest, I thought Daniel Ricciardo seemed a little distracted on the track and I thought I knew everything,” Fitzy commented.

“Kind of a small group here, and you withheld this information from us. “I feel as though we’ve been duped, Fitz,” Wippa quipped. Daniel, she joked, would fall “head over heels” in love with her upon viewing the photograph that accompanied the article.
Let’s be honest, really. “Even if Daniel wasn’t fond of me earlier, he will fall in love with me after reading this article and seeing the picture of me wearing all white linen as if I were Maggie Tabberer on the left,” she jokingly said.

Ricciardo and Heidi Berger, the daughter of Austrian driver Gerhard Berger, made their Instagram presence official in 2022. However, it is speculated that the couple began dating around 2019 or earlier.
Wippa read the article in the New Idea, which suggested that Kate and Daniel would be a “perfect match.” Kate responded, half-jokingly, “I mean, here here!”
In 2022, Daniel confessed to being “in love” with Heidi to Fitzy and Wippa, telling the hosts, “Yeah mate, I’m in love.” I think I have a good balance in my life right now since I have a wonderful thing going on.”
