The 10th anniversary of GTA 5 is coming up quickly. The world got its first look at this famous game on September 17, 2013.
After almost a decade, it has sold more than 185 million copies around the world. Rockstar Games has already talked about some small plans to mark its 10th anniversary. One of these is a Grand Theft Auto Online update that will come out on September 14, 2023.
There are also rumors about what will happen next week that should be talked about. Some data have leaks that are true. Compared to that, a story is much less sure. Let’s start with what we know for sure about the upcoming 10-year anniversary event before we get into what people are saying about it.
Here are five things to look forward to on the 10th anniversary of GTA 5:
1) Debut of the Bravado Hotring Hellfire
Rockstar Games didn’t say much about what would happen in GTA Online’s 10th-anniversary update, which was made to mark the fact that Grand Theft Auto 5 came out 10 years ago.
But this company did say that the Hotting Hellfire would be introduced in the next patch. Here’s a relevant part of the Newswire story from September 7:
“Next week, look out for a special event that celebrates the 10 year anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V in GTA Online with new collectibles, the ferocious Bravado Hotring Hellfire sports car, and more.”
Even though it’s not from GTA 5, this new sports car might get players excited. Still, this is at least one fact that players should be aware of.
2) There Are New Clothes Online
Some leaks, like this one from Floorball, also show new material that is said to be planned for the 10th anniversary of GTA 5. Datamining has shown that Grand Theft Auto Online will have more clothes for players to get. This leak shows that the Outfits: GTA V Anniversary area has a number of outfits.
Here’s what they are:
- The Homie, which is based on Franklin
- The Retired Criminal, which is based on Michael
- The Groupie, which is based on Trevor
There are also a few T-shirts with basic GTA 5 designs on them. Some of the new tops will have Bugstars and Go Go Space Monkey on them.
3) GTA 5’s Single-player Game Won’t Get a Big Update
No data show that Grand Theft Auto 5’s single-player mode will be getting a big update. Many players used to want bigger patches for this game, but these days Rockstar Games only updates Grand Theft Auto Online.
There have been leaks of future material for Grand Theft Auto Online, so gamers can expect more from that game.
4) New Colors for Weapons in Online
As part of GTA Online’s 10-year anniversary event, three new colors for weapons have been found in the game’s files. Based on the above information, here’s what they are:
- End of the Employee of the Month (Micro SMG)
- Carbine Rifle with a Suede Bucks Finish
- (RPG) Uncle T. Finish
Employee of the Month is about Franklin, Suede Bucks is clearly about Michael, and Uncle T Finish is about Trevor. Grand Theft Auto Online will likely have all three of the new colors for weapons. There’s nothing to suggest that they’ll be in the single-player game.
5) Other Surprises
Some gamers think that around the 10th anniversary of GTA 5, Rockstar Games could say something about GTA 6. It’s important to note that nothing in Grand Theft Auto Online that has been datamined hints that something that big will happen.
But you should never say never. Even though GTA 6 is supposed to come out in Fiscal 2025, there is always a small chance that gamers will get a big surprise. Rockstar Games has said that next week’s update to Grand Theft Auto Online will include more than just a new sports car and some collectibles.
Maybe the “more” part of Rockstar’s original message has something to do with other crazy things that happen with weekly updates. Players will find out on September 14, 2023, no matter what.
