It appears that after ten years of incessant back-and-forth, the release date of April 4, 2025 for the Minecraft Movie will not be extended any further.
After what seems like an eternity, the Minecraft film appears to have finally arrived. Indeed, production for the Minecraft film has concluded. It appears that the eagerly predicted live-action adaptation of Minecraft will not be delayed any longer.
A couple of hours ago, one of the principal cast members of the Minecraft Movie, Jason Momoa, took to Instagram to share the thrilling news. The image below depicts Jack Black, Jason Momoa, and other members of this incredible team ecstatic and filled with tremendous joy.
The actor declared that the production of Minecraft is nearing completion and that it has been “truly one of the greatest times” of his life and a “unbelievable movie experience.” Momoa is also appreciative that filming in New Zealand was enjoyable.

We can safely presume that the cast and crew of the Minecraft Movie have completed this project with this announcement. The adventure began in 2014, but the movie’s release date has been postponed numerous times because of numerous revisions and an unanticipated epidemic.

That all comes to an end today, though, as the filming for the Minecraft Movie is complete, and it will be released on April 4, 2025—11 years after Notch’s initial tweet.
In addition, several recent Reddit posts have included images of the outside of the filming studio as well as the set of the Minecraft movie. The pictures don’t quite match what people had in mind for the film.
