Step 2: Catch Fish in Minecraft

Move your mouse pointer over the water and then look up. The bobber will move like an arrow shot from a bow, in an arc, so it’s best to look up from the block you want the bobber to fall on.
Right-click on your fishing rod after you’ve chosen it. You will then throw your ball.
Keep an eye on the bobber on the fishing rod while you wait.
After a few seconds, you’ll see a line of bubbles form near the bobber and move toward it.
When the bubbles reach the bobber, they will go down into the sea. Right-click again when that happens.

How to Fix a Minecraft Fishing Rod?

Like other tools in Minecraft, like pickaxes and the new brush that was added in version 1.20, the fishing rod can only be used so many times. The fishing rod gets less durable every time you use it.

But if you move far away from the bobber or switch to a different hot bar spot, the fishing line will disappear and the fishing rod’s durability won’t go down. So, let’s learn how to fix your fishing rod to keep it in good shape.

The fishing rod can’t be fixed into a diamond pickaxe, for example, by putting it and some string in an anvil and hammering them together. But it’s fixed to look like a bow.
