Apex Legends Season 18: The Best and Worst Weapons After the Latest Update

When Season 18 of Apex Legends comes out, weapons will be buffed and nerfed, and the controversial Disruptor Rounds hop-up will be brought back. A new season of Apex Legends will start on August 8, 2023, and Respawn Entertainment will be back with new changes.

The update will try to improve the balance of the weapons as the makers try to make the game fun and fair. After every update, the goal is to make underpowered guns stronger and overpowered guns weaker. This update makes all SMGs much weaker.

The Prowler has been moved to the Care Package loot pool, and the powerful Disruptor Rounds from Season 2 have been brought back.

Here is a full list of all the changes and tweaks that will be made to guns in Season 18.

Season 18 Weapon Buffs & Nerfs

Care Package rotation

The Prowler can now only be found in Care Package loot. It has a selectable fire mode that lets it shoot either in bursts or continuously.

The Hemlok is once again a floor loot item, but it will get a buff to its damage repulsion that makes it better than when it didn’t have a care package.

Rounds of Disruptors

Disruptor Rounds are back from season 2 and come with the Alternator SMG and Peacekeeper shotgun as a “hop-up” addition.

In the past, these controversial rounds were seen as too strong because their increased shield damage was useful in the middle and late games.

Crafting rotations

Going back to floor loot:

  • LMG Rampage
  • R-99 SMG

Returning to crafting:

  • Nemesis went off to AR
  • Mozambique shotgun with Hammerpoint rounds that are better.

Buff

The Hemlock burst AR is the only buff we know about so far. It replaces the Prowler and comes back as floor loot with more damage and less recoil than the Care Package form.

Respawn is also happy with how the popular Nemesis AR is set up right now, so there are no plans to change it. It competes well with the R-301 and Flatine ARs, so no changes are planned.

Nerfs

SMGs

The biggest change from the nerfs is that all SMGs are now hit with:

  • Strafe speed reduced
  • Headshot multiplier reduced

R-99 SMG

Since the R-99 SMG is getting even worse:

  • The size of ammo magazines shrunk
  • The vertical rebound went up.

Shotgun Mastiff

The shotgun’s blast pattern has been narrowed so that it shoots more consistently and not in a wider spray.

Weapons

Changes to Charge Rifle

  • New projectiles and ballistics
  • Removed hitscan
  • Removed pre-fire laser
  • Projectiles have player passthrough: 80% damage retained
  • Opens doors

All SMGs, like the R-99, Alternator, CAR, and Volt

  • The ADS strafe measure has been changed from 0.85 to 0.75.
  • The Headshot multi has been cut from 1.5 to 1.25.

The Spitfire M600

  • Added barrels to make it more stable
  • ADS Recoil got better.
  • A little bit more Hipfire got out

Conclusion
