Brittany Cartwright Speaks Out About Her Decision to Divorce Jax Taylor

Brittany Cartwright has opened up about her decision to file for divorce from Jax Taylor, stating that it was a choice she “didn’t make lightly or hastily.

On the Friday, August 30 episode of her and Jax’s podcast, “When Reality Hits,” Cartwright, 35, acknowledged, “It’s been a big week.”

Since we are now filming, everything has been extensively documented on the show, so I’m afraid I can’t comment on anything at this time. I will say this: This season has been the hardest season I have ever had to film. You will see how everything turns out after the show airs.

Cartwright talked candidly about the emotional toll the divorce had taken on her, particularly in light of how widely known the information was.

“I never thought I would experience something so intensely private and public. I recognize that this is the life I choose, and I’m really privileged in many ways—I don’t say this to make someone feel bad. She remarked, “I always want to be real with you guys.”

Cartwright responded to comments that the divorce was “a publicity stunt” by providing more information and expressing gratitude to his supporters.

“I didn’t make the decision to file hastily or lightly. It took me a very long time to reach the point where I felt strong enough to stand up for myself, leave a toxic relationship, and finally realize how valuable I am,” the woman remarked.

“I’m stronger than ever, but it’s been really challenging. My drive stems from the fact that my son, Cruzie, deserves a happy and healthy mother. Jax and I will be producing the program independently going forward.

On Tuesday, August 27, Us Weekly verified that Cartwright had filed to dissolve her five-year marriage to Taylor, 45. In paperwork obtained by Us, she identified January 24 as the date of the pair’s separation, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of their breakup. Cartwright asked the court to deny her and Taylor spousal support.

Cruz, the couple’s 3-year-old son, is in the primary legal and physical care of the reality star, with Taylor granted visitation rights.

In response to a lot of “speculation” regarding her and Taylor’s relationship status, Cartwright announced in February that they were “taking time apart.”

I’ve had a lot of questions from you guys regarding Jax and I and our relationship. In an episode of their podcast “When Reality Hits,” she stated, “I just think it is important to be real and honest with you guys because we have shared so much of our life with you guys.”

“I don’t want to come out as dishonest or anything of the sort. That’s why I believe it’s crucial that I say this. .. Yes, marriage is really difficult, and this last year was especially difficult for me.

Cartwright revealed that she had moved “into another home” in the midst of their marital troubles, emphasizing that she wanted to “be transparent” with her supporters.

She continued, saying that her primary goal was “being the best mom to Cruz,” and that she wouldn’t go into too many specifics at this time because it was still very difficult to discuss.

A month later, Taylor talked candidly about adjusting to the separation with Us. “I want people to know that coparenting, running a business, and getting along with each other is possible,” he stated during The Valley’s season one premiere party.

Not all divorces are the result of infidelity. It’s not true, believe it or not. It’s shocking, I know. All that’s going on is that we’re just not talking to each other at the moment. We’re going to indulge ourselves for a bit.

Cartwright revealed to Us in a different interview that despite their problems, she was still very much in love with Taylor. “Even though I adore him, I think I should have better than this. It’s a back-and-forth,” she remarked, expressing her desire for Cruz to “bear witness to a joyful home.”

In an April Us Weekly article, Cartwright went into additional detail about her connection with Taylor prior to their divorce. He undoubtedly takes all we have for granted, even myself. She said, “He never appears to be satisfied; he’s always looking for something new, even if it’s working or this or that.

He isn’t able to truly appreciate life or slow down. And even if I’m pleased, that puts a lot of pressure on me all the time.

Over the years, Bravo viewers have seen the ups and downs of the duo. After working through Taylor’s infidelity, Cartwright and Taylor exchanged vows in 2019 on Vanderpump Rules, where he first joined Taylor in season 4.

The two departed from Lisa Vanderpump’s reality show in 2020 and reappeared on television earlier this year with the spinoff The Valley.

Filming for The Valley’s second season is now underway. Cartwright had just finished a thirty-day mental health treatment program when Taylor filed for divorce. (Source)
