What is Oshi no Ko All About?

Oshi no Ko is the name of a popular Japanese manga series by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. After serialization in the April 2020 issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump, the chapters were collected in 11 tankbon volumes by March 2023. Oshi no Ko Season 1 Brief Storyline

Gynecologist Gorou Amemiya is secretly charged with delivering the children of Japanese idol Ai Hoshino, whom he really admires. But on the night Ai gives birth, Gorou is killed by an obsessed admirer, and he is reborn as Aquamarine “Aqua” Hoshino, Ai’s son, with all of his memories intact.

Ruby Hoshino, Aqua’s identical twin, is a reincarnation as well, though she denies being the patient of Gorou’s whose interest in Ai sparked his interest in reincarnation in the first place. Four years later, the same obsessive admirer kills Ai before taking his own life.

Aqua, however, realizes that his and Ruby’s father must have had the fan as an accomplice, and he decides to enter the acting profession in order to track down and kill his father.
