The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office has announced that Lisa Marie Presley, the sole child of the rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis, passed away due to an intestinal obstruction. She underwent weight-loss surgery several years ago, which resulted in adhesions that caused the obstruction.

Local officials reported that first responders had been dispatched to Presley’s residence in Calabasas at the time of her demise, where they discovered her in cardiac arrest.
