Others supported her, arguing that she had nothing to do with the rapper Run It!’s personal life and was simply expressing her thoughts about his numerous talents.
Jill Scott Requests That Her Audience “Pray for Enlightenment” in Response to Her Chris Brown Post
Amid controversy, Jill Scott was engulfed over the weekend following her X-rated post about Chris Brown. She tagged the R&B artist and lauded his appearance in addition to his singing, dancing, acting, rhyming, and acting prowess, all of which she described as “amazing.”

Scott continued by stating that Brown was “indelible in talent” and that nothing remained for “debate,” given that “extraordinary” people face comparable challenges in their lives.
Many on the internet expressed disapproval of Jill’s remarks, while others offered their support. Currently, her name is trending on the entire platform. Individuals in the first category drew attention to Chris Brown’s documented record of abuse allegations, which encompasses his guilty plea to domestic violence charges initiated by his ex-partner and fellow vocalist Rihanna over fifteen years ago.
Under Jill Scott’s post, for instance, a user with the handle @ChrissyLcsw stated, “I believe the women he has abused would disagree.” The Get on Up star replied with a personal anecdote. She composed:

“I have my doubts. In addition to being a vicious, violent individual, the ex-husband of my mother was the best at laying foundation in my city. His work involving cement was truly remarkable. We escaped. He received a salary increase and commendation for his competence. The remainder was dealt with by God.

Another of her 1.7 million fans said, “I love you Jill but he has so many domestic abuse cases it’s ridiculous we can’t look past that,” in the space provided for comments. Jill Scott responded by saying,
“I also adore you.” I’m done fighting wars for other people. Women should stay off that street if/when they hear the stories. It makes no sense to run backwards in moving traffic. Every d*mn body deserves therapy.
On the other hand, a large number of people supported Jill Scott. In the comments, @AgentAmulet said, “Y’all furious because Jill Scott labeled Chris Brown talented? Is he not?
In a same vein, @layasfanta stated in an other post that it was inappropriate to bring up the Woman hitmaker, saying, “You really have to understand that not every artist is going to feel the same way about him as y’all do on social media.”

Jill Scott followed up on this with another comment. She noted that it required her “years of prayer, therapy, and self-reflection” in order for her to remain grounded and have empathy for other people. She continued by saying that while bad things happen to people all the time, it doesn’t make them evil.
“We declare that we pray for enlightenment and believe in God. She said, “We ARE a living testimony.”
Chris Brown has not yet provided a statement on the subject. Amid their continuous fight, he released the diss single Weakest Link against fellow rapper Quavo, and since then, he has also been trending.
