The first trailer for The Crow has been unveiled in the most recent update, only days out from the highly anticipated film’s release date. Before sending the anti-hero on his path of bloody retaliation, the three-minute teaser presents the romantic tale of Erik Draven and Shelly. The majority of the trailer is devoted on the film’s stylistic components, which contrast sharply with the original film’s and the comic book series’ more gothic tone. It’s unknown if there will be further trailers published before the June release date.
Does ‘The Crow’ Have a Release Date?
Yes, in September 2023, Lionsgate finally acquired the reboot following years of delays, changes in front of and behind the camera, and changes at the studio. The official release date of the film is set on Friday, June 7, 2024, in theaters. Ballerina, Lionsgate’s previously scheduled summer release date for the spin-off of John Wick, was postponed by a year, and The Crow will debut that weekend in its stead. The action-comedy sequel Bad Boys 4 is the only other film slated for a wide release that same weekend.
What Will the Reboot of ‘The Crow’ Contain?
A gang of criminals assaults Eric Draven and his fiancée Shelley in the graphic novel and original film. Both Shelley and the perpetrator are murdered. However, Draven is soon resurrected by an enigmatic crow endowed with unidentified abilities so that he may exact vengeance on the men who murdered him and his fiancée.

The forthcoming film is expected to faithfully reproduce the pivotal occurrences from both the 1994 film and the graphic novel, even though it has been hailed as a “modern re-imagining” of the characters and plot.

Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) and Eric Draven (Skarsgård), who are soulmates, are mercilessly murdered when the demons from Webster’s dark past retaliate against them. Presented with the opportunity to spare his beloved through self-sacrifice, Eric embarks on an irrational quest for retribution against their murderers, navigating the realms of the living and the deceased to rectify their transgressions.

Who Is Playing the Reboot of “The Crow”?
Filling up for Lee, Bill Skarsgård portrays the doomed avenger Eric Draven. Several actors, including Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Ryan Gosling, James McAvoy, Tom Hiddleston, Alexander Skarsgård, Luke Evans, Sam Witwer, Jack Huston, Nicholas Hoult, Jack O’Connell, and Jason Momoa, were considered for the lead role before Skarsgård was chosen. Momoa even had amazing effects when she was pictured wearing makeup as Draven.
FKA Twigs, a British singer-songwriter, will play Shelley, Draven’s fiancée. Over the years, many actresses, including Kristen Stewart and Jessica Brown Findlay, were considered for roles before Twigs was chosen.
Danny Huston, who plays Yellowstone in the film, is also a character actor, though it’s unclear what role he plays. However, Huston may be portraying Draven’s killer and ultimate target given his propensity of playing villains in films such as Wonder Woman and 30 Days of Night.
Zadie is portrayed by Isabella Wei (1899), who is also listed in the cast. The original cast of the movie included Forrest Whitaker, Andrea Riseborough, and Norman Reedus. Riseborough was cast as the female version of Top Dollar, while Reedus was cast as James.
