Microsoft just announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 will no longer be available on Xbox Game Pass on Friday, January 5. Since Grand Theft Auto 5 was added to Xbox Game Pass on July 5, 2023, users will have had six months to play it before it is taken away.
Grand Theft Auto 5 has been on Xbox Game Pass more than once, and each time it has been handled differently than other games on the service. The last time Grand Theft Auto 5 was added to Xbox Game Pass, it came as a big surprise because there was no release like there is for other Game Pass games. Besides that, Rockstar games that are added to Game Pass usually leave on days other than the 15th and last days of the month, which is when other games are taken off.
People who have Xbox Game Pass have known for a while that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be leaving because it was added to the app’s “Leaving Soon” area last month. Many people thought that meant Grand Theft Auto 5 would be taken off the service on December 31, but that day came and went, and GTA 5 was still there.
At the time, it was thought that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be one of the games leaving the Game Pass on January 15. However, it has now been revealed that it will be leaving 10 days earlier. Today, January 5, is the last day that Xbox Game Pass users can play Grand Theft Auto 5. They should enjoy it while they still can unless they decide to buy it.
When Will Grand Theft Auto 5 Be Deployed From Xbox Game Pass?
Grand Theft Auto 5 will no longer be available on Xbox Game Pass on Friday, January 5, 2024.
In January 2024, Xbox Game Pass will lose more games than just Grand Theft Auto 5. On January 15, four more games will be taken off Xbox Game Pass.
These are Garden Story, MotoGP 22, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4 Golden. Garden Story, MotoGP 22, and Persona 4 Golden should be the top games for Game Pass users since Persona 3 will soon have a new version.
Persona 3 Reload will be added to Xbox Game Pass as a day-one game on February 2. This will give fans of the classic game a whole new way to enjoy it, and it will make the loss of Persona 3 Portable from Game Pass a little less painful.
