Gypsy, who is currently in the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, did not talk to the reporters after she made her plea.
When she got home, she told Michelle Dean of BuzzFeed that she had used jail computers to study Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which is now officially called an artificial disorder caused by another person, and that her mother had all of the symptoms.
She said, “I think she would have been a great mom for someone who was sick.” She agreed to the regular head shavings even though she knew Dee Dee could walk and eat real food. She did this because she believed Dee Dee when she said she had cancer.
However, she was upset that Flasterstein was the only doctor who didn’t believe the lie. She had always hoped that other doctors would. Dean asked Gypsy what was making her want to leave her present situation, and she told him about the event at the 2011 science fiction convention.
She began to wonder why she couldn’t have friends like other kids her age after this event. Even though she said Godejohn turned their jokes about murder into a serious crime, she still admits she did something wrong and has to deal with the consequences. She has said, though, that she wants to help other abused women.
