Annie Wersching Death: After Two Years of Cancer, “24” Actor Dies at 45!

Annie Wersching was an American actress who played Renee Walker on 24 and guest starred on other shows like Bosch and Timeless. She did voice acting and motion capture for Tess in The Last of Us, developed by Naughty Dog.

Wersching was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed her high school education in 1995 at Crossroads College Preparatory School, located in St. Louis’ Central West End. She was a member of the St. Louis Celtic Stepdancers and competed in Irish dance when she was younger. In 1999, Wersching graduated with a BFA in musical theatre from Millikin University.

Annie Wersching Death

Annie Wersching, well known as FBI agent Renee Walker 24, has passed away at the age of 45. According to the Associated Press, Wersching passed away from cancer on Sunday morning in Los Angeles. There was no mention of what kind of cancer it was.

Developer of The Last of Us and the video game in which Wersching voiced Tess, Neil Druckmann, lamented her death on Twitter, writing, “We just lost a beautiful artist and human being.” That completely broke my heart. Prayers go out to her family and friends. Co-star of the sci-fi show Timeless, Abigail Spencer, tweeted, “We love you Annie Wersching. We will miss you terribly.

Wersching spent her whole two-decade career making guest appearances on various television programs. Her acting career began with Star Trek: Enterprise, and she has since been in reoccurring parts on 24 (seasons seven and eight), Bosch, The Vampire Diaries, Marvel’s Runaways, The Rookie, and most recently, Star Trek: Picard (season two, as the Borg Queen).

According to Deadline, Wershing was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, yet this did not stop him from continuing his career. The actor Stephen Full, who was her husband, and their three sons are left behind. There’s a GoFundMe campaign set up to help the family out.

Annie Wersching Career

Wersching made her acting debut in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise and has since been in numerous guest-starring roles on other popular television series, including Charmed, Killer Instinct, Supernatural, and Cold Case. She had a recurring role as Amelia Joffe on the ABC soap series General Hospital from March and November of 2007. She also had stints at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the Marriott Lincolnshire, and the Victory Gardens.

In seasons 7 and 8, Wersching portrayed FBI Special Agent Renee Walker on 24. Wersching’s resume after her two seasons on 24 includes guest roles on CSI, NCIS, Rizzoli & Isles, Hawaii Five-0, Body of Proof, Dallas, Revolution, Castle, Blue Bloods, The Vampire Diaries, and Touch.

For the 2009 Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game, Wersching was a participant.
