Dancing With the Stars Pro Artem Chigvintsev Taken into Custody on Domestic Violence Charges
Artem Chingvintsev, one of the most adored pros on the popular reality TV show Dancing With the Stars, was taken into custody for domestic abuse.
Chingvintsev was reportedly arrested for felony domestic abuse, according to TMZ, but it’s unclear what exactly happened to warrant his detention. He was taken into custody in Napa, California.
It’s unclear what role, if any, Chingvintsev’s wife—former WWE star Nikki Garcia, formerly known as Nikki Bella—had in this predicament, as she posted a snapshot on her Instagram story on August 28 indicating that she is also in Napa.
Nikki Garcia and Artem Chingvintsev Relationship
Artem has partnered with a number of celebrities on Dancing With the Stars, most notably winning the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with Kaitlyn Bristowe of Bachelor Nation. However, he bonded well with Nikki Bella, his season 25 partner.
After starting dating in 2019, the couple declared in 2020 that they were expecting Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev, their first child. On August 26, 2022, Artem and Nikki celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary.
Things seemed to be going well between Artem and Nikki based on the pictures they frequently post on social media, but it’s possible that this circumstance permanently damaged their once-happy relationship.
Nikki and Artem have not yet made any remarks or statements regarding the circumstances.

The Future Of Artem On Dancing With The Stars
Again, it’s not entirely clear what caused Artem to be arrested, but Page Six has revealed that he won’t be going back to Dancing With the Stars.
Only professional Witney Carson, celebrity contender Stephen Nedoroscik, hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, judges Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough have been confirmed to be a part of season 33. The full cast announcement is scheduled for September 4.
Set your calendars for September 17, which is when ABC and Disney+ will host the much anticipated return of Dancing With the Stars.
