Jim Broadbent (The Duke) portrays the Duke of Leicester, Jane’s uncle; Henry Ashton (Creation Stories) portrays Guildford’s brother, Stan; and Isabella Brownson (Napoleon) and Robyn Betteridge (Wheel of Time) portray Jane’s sisters.

Kate O’Flynn (Landscapers) and Abbie Hern (Enola Holmes 2) play the King’s sisters Princess Mary and Princess Bess, respectively. Máiréad Tyers (Extraordinary), Joe Klocek (The Dry), and Michael Workeye (This Is Going to Hurt) round out the cast.

Amazon Prime’s synopsis for the series reads as follows… Lady Jane Grey was crowned monarch of England in 1553. She lost the throne and, shortly thereafter, her cranium, nine days later. Consider, however, a distinct historical course.

However, readers of the novels will be aware that the narrative contains an additional fantastical element… Practically speaking, England in the sixteenth century was religiously divided; Edward VI, a devout Protestant, and his sister Mary I, a devout Catholic, were both examples.
