The 1976 novel of the same name by Anne Rice, as well as a portion of the entire The Vampire Chronicles book series, are both partially adapted for television in AMC’s Interview with the Vampire. The first part of the Gothic horror series follows vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he meets seasoned reporter Daniel Molloy for their follow-up interview, which takes place 49 years after the first one.
Season 2 of the show will launch on May 12, 2024, following its October 2, 2022 premiere. This is what we now know about the possibility of a third season of Interview with the Vampire. Here are all the details we currently know about the release date and schedule for Interview with the Vampire: Season 3.
When will Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire Premiere?
A release date for Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire has not yet been officially announced; however, one is probable in the near future.

As of early May 2024, AMC has not granted a renewal for the third season of Interview with the Vampire. The network approved the second season of the series approximately one month prior to the premiere of the first season, so viewers may have some cause for concern. However, series creator Rolin Jones revealed in November 2022 during an appearance on The AMC+ Interview with the Vampire Podcast that AMC had a long-term plan for the program.
“AMC executives subjected me to an extensive series of tests in order to ascertain my suitability for the position; the standards extended beyond a mere evaluation of pilot stories and first-season merits.” It was “How will this matter appear in eight years?”
Rollins suggested in the same interview that Lestat’s complicated relationship with his mother, Gabrielle de Lioncourt, could be the subject of the third season. The relationship is central to the plot of the second volume in the series, The Vampire Lestat (1985). Thus, it is reasonable to infer that the third season will be an adaptation of that book. If the audience responds favorably to season 2, Interview with the Vampire may return for a third season.

Where will the Third Season of Interview with the Vampire be Released?
Interview with the Vampire Season 3 could air on AMC and AMC Plus. This is because Season 1 of Interview with the Vampire debuted on the same platforms. We will publish an update as AMC announces the series’ sophomore season.
Interview with the Vampire’s official summary is as follows: “Louis de Pointe’s epic tale of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy.” Chafing at the limits of life as a black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis is unable to resist the rakish Lestat De Lioncourt’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion.
