Bart Durham, a well-known injury attorney, died at the age of 89. Bart Durham Injury Law, based in Nashville, Tennessee, reported the lawyer’s death on Tuesday.
Durham was well-known in Nashville and Middle Tennessee, having founded his injury law company in 1975 after working in the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office in 1969. According to his obituary, Durham was in charge of federal civil rights issues across the state and even argued three cases before the United States Supreme Court, which was one of his proudest achievements.
Durham, born in 1935 and raised in Ripley, was a “small-town boy with humble beginnings” who credited his success to “hard work, others’ investments in him, and luck.”
