Season 3, Episode 7 Recap: “The Demon Slayer”
In season 3 episode 7 of the demon slayer, Tanjiro is dead set on decapitating Hantengu, but his blade doesn’t go all the way through. Tanjiro senses a new demon lurking behind him just as the flame on Nezuko’s blade goes out. Genya figures that Sekido has consolidated all the other demons into himself. Tanjiro and Genya’s attack on Hantengu has drawn the ire of Sekido. Tanjiro retorts, saying that they killed hundreds of people.
Muichiro, meanwhile, is still held captive in Gyokko’s water jail. He makes one try at an attack, but it’s not enough to free himself. He considers the possibility that these are his final moments, but then he recalls Tanjiro’s words that “no one can predict the future.”
Gyokko walks into the shed and notices Haganezuka intently practicing with Tanjiro’s sword. When Haganezuka stands firm in the face of his attacks, Gyokko becomes frustrated.
Muichiro is encouraged to keep on by the spirit of Tanjiro. Kotetsu tries to free Muichiro from the underwater jail, but a fish demon stabs him. Muichiro is able to escape his aquatic prison thanks to Kotetsu’s bubble blowing. Muichiro knows he saw a reflection of his father, Tanjiro because he inherited his eyes.
