Even though Nintendo hasn’t said anything official about it, it’s likely that new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC expansions are in the works and will be out in June 2023.
Just like the Pokemon Sword and Shield expansions helped Nintendo make more money from people who already played the game, the new DLCs for Scarlet and Violet would also help Nintendo make more money. This makes it very likely that there will be extra content for the games.
What Is The Story of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC?
The DLC’s name, “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero,” tells you a lot about what it will be about in terms of the story. Scarlet and Violet have an area called “Area Zero” that you can only get to after you finish the main game and roll the credits.
In Area Zero, players could meet Paradox Pokémon that were unique. These are versions of Pokémon from the past and the future. This mystery about traveling through time keeps adding to the overall look and plot of Scarlet and Violet. Area Zero has always seemed like the start of a new story after the game is over. The fact that the DLC is coming out only confirms this.
It seems that by going to the two new areas added by The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, players will slowly learn more about the title zone and the secret behind why Paradox Pokémon exist in the first place.
Are There New Pokémon in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Dlc?
In The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, players can look forward to more than just two new areas. Nintendo says that “The Teal Mask” will add more than 230 Pokémon that haven’t been seen in Scarlet and Violet. This is a big number that beats the nearly 200 new Pokémon that were added to Pokémon Sword and Shield by its expansions.
Nintendo says that this number only includes Pokémon that are new to Scarlet and Violet, not to the series as a whole. That doesn’t mean the new Pokémon won’t show up in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, though. Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti are all new Pokémon that will be seen in “The Teal Mask” for the first time.
Other Features of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC
The Pokémon Company also said that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will get other features. In Terra Raid Battles, there will be a new pair of paradox Pokémon: the Water- and Dragon-type Walking Wake and the Grass- and Psychic-type Walking Wake, which are based on Virizion and Suicune, respectively.
