New Alien Movie Release Date: People think that Alien and its follow up, Aliens, are two of the best science fiction movies ever made. We think they’re two of the best movies ever made, no matter what field they’re in.
Since then, the Alien timeline has become disorganized. Luckily, director Fede Álvarez (a master of horror, gore, and tension) is bringing the series back to life with a new movie called Alien: Romulus.
New Alien Movie Release Date
The next Alien movie will come out in cinemas for the first time on Friday, August 16, 2024.
Unlike other recent movie release dates, we think this one will stick because the shooting wasn’t stopped or affected by the Hollywood strikes in 2023. There was main filming for the new movie from March 9 to July 3, which means that work on the movie was done 11 days before the SAG-AFTRA strike began.
Álvarez confirmed to Variety that he was done with a director’s cut, and the final film has been shown to none other than Ridley Scott. Production on the movie is now officially over. Scott is known for being hard to please, but he seemed to really enjoy the movie. He said, “It’s fucking great” when talking about Álvarez’s lines.
Who is in the New Alien Movie?
The main cast of the new Alien movie will mostly be younger stars, which makes it different from the others.
You may not know most of the new cast members’ names, but they’ve all been in some great movies and TV shows.
So far, this is the cast list for Alien 7:
- Cailee Spaeny
- Isabela Merced
- David Jonsson
- Archie Renaux
You may recognize Spaney from the TV show Mare of Easttown with Kate Winslet and the new movie Priscilla. Fearn from The Batman and Aftersun, and Merced from Transformers: The Last Knight and Sicario 2.
What is Going to Happen in the New Alien Movie?
As far as we know, Alien 7 will be a separate movie from the other movies in the series. It will be about a group of young people in a faraway world who have to face a Xenomorph between the events of Alien and Aliens.
Spaeny told Variety, “It’s meant to fit in between the first movie and the second movie.” So, during the new movie, Ripley will be in cryostasis after getting away from the Xenomorph on the Nostromo. That doesn’t tell us much, but it does mean that the new movie, Alien, and Aliens can all be seen together.
Now that you know the basics, let’s make some guesses based on what we know about aliens. We think the fact that the cast of the new Alien movie is much younger than usual will have something to do with the story.
Is There a Movie Clip for the New Alien?
As of now, there is no video for Alien 7. Though, since it’s less than a year away, one shouldn’t be too far off. The first video for the new Alien movie is likely to come out in February 2024, if we had to guess.
Where Can I Watch the New Alien Movie?
Alien 7 will first be shown in theaters and then on streaming services.
In fact, the movie was supposed to premiere on Hulu at first, which shows how weak the Alien series is becoming at the box office. However, plans were changed after seeing how good the movie was, and now we can all see the Alien carnage in theaters.
While waiting for the premiere of the new Alien movie, you can watch more shows in the same genre. Some examples of such shows are Nyad Movie and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
