Marion Sylvester Barber III was born on June 10, 1983, in Plymouth, Minnesota. He is the son of the former New York Jets running back Marion Barber Jr. and Karen Barber.
He also led his team with 10 interceptions, which was the most of any player. In 2001, Barber made it to the Minnesota State Class AA Championships in the 100-meter race.
The Dallas Cowboys picked Marion Barber with the fourth pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was known for beating up defenders and being a strong running back.
