Minecraft 1.21: Release Date, Rumors, and Features

With the Minecraft 1.20 update, our blocky worlds got some long-awaited and wanted changes. Minecraft 1.20 is a really great update. It adds new mobs like the Sniffer and the camel, the ability to modify armor with armor trims, an archeology system, and so much more.

But now that the hype has died down, people are interested in what comes next. And that’s what we’re going to talk about here, throwing light on the Minecraft 1.21 release date and possible new features like mobs and biomes.

Minecraft 1.21 Release Date (Expected)

Before we move on to Minecraft 1.21, let’s talk for a moment about how the earlier updates worked. At first, Minecraft 1.17 was meant to be a huge update for Caves & Cliffs, but it wasn’t ready in time. So, Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs Part 1 and Minecraft 1.18 Caves & Cliffs Part 2 were made. Both of these versions came out on June 8, 2021, and November 30, 2021.

Then, on June 7, 2022, Minecraft 1.19 Wild Update, the next big update, came out. So, you can see that Mojang has been updating Minecraft every six months for the last few versions. But that changed with the Trails and Tales update for Minecraft 1.20, which came out on June 7, 2022, a year after the Wild Update.

Minecraft 1.21: Release Date

What’s going on? This happened because a lot of planned features were canceled or put off, which made the community sad. So, for the Minecraft 1.20 update, the developers chose not to make big promises and then fall short.

And we expect the next Minecraft update, 1.21, to follow the same trend. So, the Minecraft 1.21 update is probably going to come out in June 2024.

What Is the Name of the Update for Minecraft 1.21?

When it was first revealed in October 2022, the last major update, MC 1.20, didn’t have an official name. A few months later, Minecraft 1.20 got its official name. This could have happened because of the unhappiness in the community, which was talked about in the last part.

Because of this, Mojang might take its time coming up with a name for the Minecraft 1.21 update and instead focus on the new features. Even so, that doesn’t stop us from coming up with our own ideas about what the next update will be about.

The End of the News?

The End Update has been asked for more than any other update in Minecraft’s history. The Mojang team hasn’t really paid much attention to this area so far. It’s still a simple, mostly empty world with a few enemies, a building with the most powerful loot, and the game’s boss. You’d think it deserves a little more love and respect. With the Minecraft 1.21 update, the makers have a good chance to redo the whole End dimension and make it come to life.

The Update to the Inventory?

Also, every Minecraft player always has trouble with not having enough place in their inventory. Even if you have a lot of shulker boxes to help you move things around, you’ll still want more space in your usual inventory. Could Minecraft 1.21 have something to do with this problem, and could it be the thing that fixes it? Will we maybe get an update on the stock? What do you think? Tell us in the comments!

The Biomes Update?

If you happen to be watching movies on the official Minecraft channel on YouTube, you might find useful information about the Minecraft 1.21 update. The team has been putting up movies from The Great Wild series that show off the game’s different biomes.

Minecraft 1.21: Release Date

It’s not unusual for Mojang to make material that hints at new features, but it could be. Will Minecraft 1.21 be an area Update that gives each area a little something? Or maybe just a few biomes, like the desert, grasslands, and badlands, will get a new look.

During the Biome Vote in 2018 and 2019, Mojang mentioned three biomes that needed to be changed, and the community voted on which biome should be changed. But that doesn’t mean that features made for other biomes won’t be added in the future. Look at all the meerkats, palm trees, ostriches, vultures, and other cool things that could be added to Minecraft.

There Might Be New Biomes and Mobs in Minecraft 1.21.

New biomes and mobs will definitely depend on the update’s theme, so let’s talk about a few of the things we think Minecraft 1.21 will add.

Meerkats, ostriches, and vultures

As we talked about in the last part, Minecraft has a lot of half-finished or forgotten features. In the desert, savanna, and badlands biomes, these are meerkats, ostriches, and vultures, which are all inactive or neutral mobs.

Like dolphins, meerkats might be cute and nice animals that could help the players in some ways. Ostriches could have a funny animation where they bury their heads, and maybe they could even be loaded. When you threw things on the ground, vultures would steal them and maybe give you something in return.

The End Biome Remake

Before Minecraft version 1.16, the Nether wasn’t very fancy. It was mostly made up of netherrack, and the mobs walking around were zombie piglins with ghasts flying above them. With the Minecraft 1.16 update, the whole Nether got a huge makeover with new biomes, mobs, atmospheric music, and other things.

Imagine if the “old Nether” vibes from the End realm got a similar makeover. There could be many new End biomes, some of which would have exotic End plants and others would have dangerous mobs, like the red dragon that Notch described in a tweet a long time ago.

Conclusion

Minecraft 1.20 has brought long-awaited changes to the blocky worlds, including new mobs, armor modification, and an archeology system. However, the developers chose not to make big promises and instead fell short with the Trails and Tales update, which came out a year after the Wild Update.

The next Minecraft update is expected to come out in June 2024. The End Update has been asked for more than any other update in Minecraft’s history, and the developers have a chance to redo the whole End dimension.
