At the age of 64, Lisa Loring, the first person to play Wednesday Addams on television, passed away. For the 1964 TV series “The Addams Family,” Loring, then six years old, played Wednesday. Actress Lisa Loring hailed from the United States. Beginning at age six, she became famous for her role as Wednesday Addams on the hit television show The Addams Family, which ran from 1964 to 1966.

Loring was born on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, which at the time was a United Nations Trust Territory under American control. Both of her parents were in the Navy, and they split up soon after she was born. She was raised in Hawaii before she and her mother relocated to California. During the 1964 season, she began her career as a model and made an appearance on an episode of Dr. Kildare. She was only 34 when her mother passed away from alcoholism.

Laure Jacobson, a close friend of Lisa’s, has written a Facebook post explaining how the actress tragically passed away. Jacobson stated on her Facebook page:

I regret to inform you of the passing of our dear friend Lisa Loring. She had a major stroke four days ago, and doctors say her smoking and high blood pressure were to blame. Three days ago, she was put on life support. Her loved ones made the painful decision to take it out yesterday, and she passed away last night.

Chris Carbaugh, Lisa’s agent, confirmed the news through CNN, saying that she “died away on Saturday surrounded by her family.” According to Variety, her final hours were spent surrounded by loved ones. She “passed quietly with both her children holding her hands,” as her daughter Vanessa Foumberg put it. According to the medical examiner, Loring, 64, was pronounced dead at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California.

At age 15, Loring married Farrell Foumberg and became a mother. A year later, the couple got a divorce. In 1981, Loring wed actor Doug Stevenson, her second husband. He also had a bit part in Search for Tomorrow, another CBS/Procter & Gamble daytime drama. Loring’s second daughter came from her marriage to Stevenson, which ended in divorce in 1983.

Loring wed Jerry Butler, an actor in erotica films, in 1987. Loring was working as a make-up artist and uncredited writer on the set of the 1987 adult film Traci’s Big Trick, which is where the two of them first crossed paths.

Lisa Loring Career

Loring’s breakout role was as Wednesday Addams on The Addams Family, and she is best remembered for that (1964–1966). She lasted far longer than the other regulars on the show. Later, in the TV movie Halloween with the New Addams Family, she reprised the role (October 1977).

She started appearing on The Pruitts of Southampton on ABC that same year. She played the role of Cricket Montgomery on the CBS daytime drama As the World Turns from 1980 to 1983. Savage Harbor (1988), Blood Frenzy (1987), and Iced (1988) were the three B-movies she was in (1987).
