The Terminal List Season 2: Will the Terminal List Could Return With New Season?

Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Disney+ are streaming services continually seeking new content to add to their libraries. This is because there is a great rivalry in the streaming world, and these companies want to attract customers.

The most recent installment of Amazon’s original programming, The Terminal List, perfectly illustrates this point. Chris Pratt, a Hollywood A-lister, stars as the main character in this high-octane thriller.

Fans are devouring the latest episodes of The Terminal List, and the conversation is swiftly shifting to what the future may contain. If the program continues to be successful, there is the possibility that it may be renewed for a second season and several more seasons after that.

Release Date and Plot

On Friday, July 1, 2022, The Terminal List became magically available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The television series is based on the best-selling novel by Jack Carr and follows Lieutenant Commander James Reece after he comes home after participating in a secret Navy SEALs mission during which his whole battalion is ambushed.

Upon his return, Reece is confronted with recollections of the events that have diverged and questions that continue to be raised regarding his role in the mission that was unsuccessful.

However, as more information comes to light, Reece realizes that he is at the center of a sinister plot and that an adversary whose identity he does not know is plotting against him. This puts not only his life but also the lives of his family and friends in jeopardy.

Why the Terminal List Could Return for Season 2 and Beyond

After the first eight episodes, it becomes clear that the narrative of James Reece can go on indefinitely.

This is because the novel series on which The Terminal List is based, written by Jack Carr, features five different entries.

In principle, the series might run for five seasons if Amazon adapted one novel during each season of the show. However, this may be extended even further if Jack Carr continues to produce additional books in the franchise.

The first book in the Terminal List series, the eponymous novel, was published in 2018, and since then, a new installment has been added to the series year.

While the story continued with Savage Son, The Devil’s Hand, and most recently In the Blood, just released in May of 2022, the sequel novel True Believer was published in 2019 and made its way into the shelves of bookstores that same year.

Creators Claim That There Is More

Even though The Terminal List has not been officially renewed for a second season on Amazon Prime Video, the show’s creators have given hints that there are plans for further installments.

During an interview with Screen Rant, author Jack Carr, series head writer Dave DiGilio, and pilot director Antoine Fuqua expressed their desire for the program to be picked up for a second season.

Regarding the possibility of a second season, Dave DiGilio expressed optimism by saying, “Fingers crossed,” while Fuqua retorted, “That’s the aim.”

The filmmaker continued, “We most certainly went into it with the overarching goal of trying to achieve that.” “Therefore, if we are fortunate and succeed, Amazon will attempt this endeavor once more.”

Dave Gilio added some more context by noting, “Yeah, we have a road map for each season ahead of us.” The only issue is that Carr only publishes one book every twelve months, whereas it takes us much longer to put together a play.”

Carr’s comeback was a joke: “I don’t know what their problem is.”
